Nerf Legends is a solo and online multiplayer first-person shooting featuring the popular Nerf brand. Nerf Legends offers up a suite of solo gauntlet, arena, and puzzle stages for you to sink your teeth into while getting to grips with a plethora of Nerf weapons. The game does also offer a free-for-all online mode but finding a match might not be the easiest of things to do.RELATED: Best First-Person Shooter Games For BeginnersThe game is quite straightforward, playing out like many other first-person shooters, however, the gameplay within the solo stages is quite different. You do have a mini-story guiding you along the various stages but it's certainly nothing groundbreaking or exciting. The following tips should give you the leg up when first hopping into the game.

8 Go Through Training

Nerf Legends offer two separate training modes that are completely optional. While this game is pretty easy to simply pick up and play, there are some finer gameplay mechanics you should be aware of. It's certainly in your best interest to hop into each of the tutorials first.

Fortunately, the tutorials are quite short and there is one for combat and one for movement. The movement tutorial is the best one to check out since learning to jump, double jump, and navigate through stages is a critical part of the solo mode gameplay.

7 Focus On Points And Multipliers

Nerf Legends, first and foremost, is a points-based game. Your main objective, aside from completing each stage of a cup is to get as many points as you can. The more points you get, the more options you have to get a bronze, silver, or gold medal. You will want to get medals since they lead to unlocking better Nerf guns.

As you play you will earn points and multipliers for defeating enemies. The better you are at target acquisition and moving from enemy to enemy efficiently, the better multipliers you get and the more points you will receive overall.

6 You Can Have Various Loadouts

Like many similar first-person shooter games, you can have multiple loadouts. Prior to hopping into a stage, you are given the option to customize your loadouts. Each loadout can have three weapons and a melee weapon, however, you will have to unlock most of them.

As you progress in the game it's a good idea to have three different loadouts for multiple styles of play, especially since some stages focus on arena battles while others focus on traversal and puzzles.

5 Don't Forget Melee

Due to the staggering number of Nerf guns in Nerf Legends, you might completely forget about your melee weapon. Your melee weapon can be used at the press of a button and is actually one of the more powerful weapons in the game. Simply put, always use melee between shots or reloads.

You start out the game with a basic melee blade but can eventually get a spear and a sword-type Nerf weapon. If you find yourself acquiring a huge multiplier but need to reload, it's best to utilize your melee button to finish off the enemy. It's a strong and fast attack that deals good damage overall.

4 Look For Health Pickups

You will take a lot of damage in Nerf Legends and enemies tend to be quite relentless, especially in the arena zone areas. Fortunately, yellow icon health pickups are all over the place and you will want to ensure you pick them up. Your health can go from 100 to 0 relatively quickly in this game and death means restarting that gameplay section.

If for some reason you aren't near a health pickup then be sure to use your energy shield to deflect incoming attacks until you can stumble across some more health.

3 Pay Attention To Objectives

Each solo stage and cup features a wide array of objectives to complete from defeating a certain number of enemies to flipping switches and the like. You always have an objective indicator on-screen guiding you where to go next, along with other on-screen prompts.

Be sure to play the objectives and focus on completing them in a timely manner before the enemies can swarm you. Some stages have enemies that continue to spawn in until you complete the objective.

2 Look For Glowing Weak Spots

Most enemies in Nerf Legends can be taken out with relative ease, however, some of the bigger baddies, such as the large robot crabs, need to be destroyed via their glowing weak spots. These weak spots, when shot, will deal a significant amount of damage and often break their shields.

Since obtaining points and multipliers is key to success in this game, you will want to defeat as many enemies as possible in as short as time as possible. The glowing weak spots are your best bet to get more points overall.

1 Try Out The Various Powerups

As you progress through certain stages you will come across different powerups. These temporary buffs or abilities can be a real game-changer and some are even necessary to move past certain sections. Powerups come in many forms and are indicated by a unique icon in the world.

For example, one early platforming-type section has you bouncing across pads while trying to defeat turrets. However, these aren't easy to hit without the homing powerup. If you pick this up, you can easily take out the turrets while your Nerf darts automatically target the nearest enemy.
