NetEase is getting in on the casual-competitive craze with Eggy Party, an upcoming mobile game that sees dozens of players facing off in various minigames. The game is slated to release on iOS and Android devices in China – and it's definitely not based on Fall Guys.

There's still a lot we don't know about the battle royale-style platformer, although NetEase did release a few screenshots and a short teaser trailer. It's egg-shaped characters and colorful levels look eerily similar to another popular battle royale game – but it's definitely not Fall Guys.

"Eggy Party is the first casual competitive game launched by NetEase Games," reads a translation. "You can change into a cute egg boy to participate in the game of casual competition, and will encounter a variety of wonderful levels, experience a variety of different traps and obstacles and random props, free to collide in the game."

Odd translation aside – that kind of sounds like Fall Guys.

NetEase has good reason to join in on the Fall Guys fun, however, as the title was wildly successful in China. Unfortunately, the company doesn't have the rights to publish Fall Guys on mobile – that privilege belongs to Bilibili. There's still no word on a mobile port outside of China, although it seems likely it would sell just as well in the west.

Eggy Party probably won't see the light of day outside of China, either, although we wouldn't be surprised to hear more from NetEase in the coming weeks.
