Looks like Netflix Portugal let slip a new Resident Evil project. No, not that live action show that's reportedly in the works. This appears to be a CG-animated movie or series about some familiar characters exploring a creepy house. The Twitter account for the Portugese arm of the streaming giant posted a trailer that shows the name: Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness.

Spoilers, of course, if you want to go in surprised for whatever Capcom and Netflix have in store. Watching the trailer, however, immediately gives away some appealing facts about whatever Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is. For one, it looks like Claire Redfield returns as the star of this series. While there's no dialogue to confirm as such, the character viewers are introduced to does sport her signature red jacket and ponytail. The second half of the trailer seems to hint that Infinite Darkness will tie into the current storyline of Resident Evil 7 and 8.

If the Tweet gets taken down, take heart knowing that a fan already downloaded the teaser and put it on Youtube.

Other than that, the trailer gives very little info about what Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness actually is. The Portugese of the Twitter post gives a simple "Me? Afraid? No ... nothing!" to set the mood. The end of the trailer confirms that Infinite Darkness will be streaming exclusively on Netflix in 2021. Looks like Resident Evil fans will have to wait a bit longer to find out what Claire has gotten herself into now.

While they bide their time, Resident Evil devotees might want to check out what else Capcom has in store. For instance, it appears that the Resident Evil engine is being used for the new Monster Hunter game. Capcom is also set to show its various upcoming projects throughout the weekend as part of Tokyo Game Show. Expect to see more that new Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, and, of course, Resident Evil Village.

Resident Evil Village is set to release in 2021 for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. Apparently, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is coming to Netflix in 2021 as well.
