Meanwhile, The Last Kingdom's Sarah O'Gorman and Born of War's Vicky Jewson are joining the production as co-directors. O'Gorman has already worked on Netflix's The Witcher, directing two of the second series' episodes - Redanian Intelligence and What Is Lost. When it launches in the holidays later this year, keep an eye out for her two if you want a taster of what to expect from her in Blood Origin.

The two directors will helm three episodes each, culminating in a limited series made up of six total. O'Gorman is in charge of episodes one, four, and six, while Jewson will be taking on two, three, and five, interchanging the entire run.

Blood Origin is all about the prototype-witcher, the first one that leads into the band of brothers that includes the likes of Geralt and Vesemir. The series will also tell the story of the Conjunction of the Spheres, the moment where the worlds of monsters, elves, and men merged into one, hence the need for witchers to protect normal folk from monsters.

Blood Origin doesn't currently have a release date but The Witcher's second series launches on December 17, so expect it next year at the earliest.
