This handy new converter could lead to the number of controllers you currently have cluttering up your living room being cut in half.

We are unable to pinpoint the exact period of time during which the price of console controllers went through the roof. Aside from specific bundles, which we would highly recommend for this reason alone, PlayStation 4s and Xbox Ones tend to come with just the one controller. That means you'll need to add another $60 onto the price of your console if you want to go home with a second.

Multiple controllers dilemma number two. Have you ever been using one console and hopped straight onto another? No matter how many times we do it, it is a tricky transition to master. Skipping between playing games on a PS4 and a Nintendo Switch is not easy. Not only are the buttons in different places, but the overall feel and weight of the consoles' respective controllers are entirely different.

A converter being advertised on Japanese website Game Watch could be the answer to all of the issues listed above. The converter claims that it will allow gamers to use Switch controllers on a PS4 and vice versa. Plus, it would appear that the converter will work with wireless controllers as well as wired ones.

The Nerd Mag reports, due to the above and below diagrams being in Japanese, some of the details may have been lost in translation. However, it would seem that gamers with a Wii U will also be able to use the converter to play games on that console using a PS4 controller. However, as far as we can tell, Switch controllers will not be compatible with the Wii U.

While the Super Converter is not available quite yet, the website suggests that it will be on the market by mid-July. Although on a Japanese site, we're hoping that the converters will be shipped internationally. They are currently listed at 6480¥ (a little less than $60). Yes, that is about the same as a new controller, but providing the converters work as promised, you might only need to buy half as many controllers going forward.
