A new Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trailer has just dropped, and it showed us a new crab 'mon called Klawf, along with its Titan variant, a huge beast that seems like a sort of boss Pokemon, similar to the Alola region's totem 'mons. We also saw a new rival group, Team Star, a bunch of school troublemakers, and some fancy new Pokemon that looked like Knights of some sort.

The Titan Pokemon are the biggest news from the trailer, literally. Arven, "an upperclassman and gifted cook" states he'll be "visiting the lairs of the Titans and nabbing their Herba Mystica." This seems to be part of the Path of Legends, which tasks players with seeking out "the legendary Herba Mystica."

The nefarious Team Star was also introduced, headed up by Mela, the boss of Team Star's Fire Crew (via Serebii). Team Star is made up of the rebellious students of your school, Naranja Academy. They fit into the more cutesy archetype of game rivals, like Team Yell, who were just overzealous fans reminiscent of British football hooligans.

We know Scarlet & Violet will feature three main story paths, rather than just the standard League Challenge story, though that will be in the game too. We met Geeta, the iridescent chairwoman of the Pokemon League. Much like Sword & Shield's varied gym challenges, the new games offer Gym Tests, in keeping with the school theme of Scarlet & Violet.

There were some new Knight pokemon that were revealed too, and honestly they looked a lot more like Digimon than Pokemon. There's Armarouge, a Fire/Psychic-type, and Ceruledge, a Fire/Ghost-type. These seem like paradox variants, introduced in the Gen. Armarouge would be the past variant and Ceruledge the future one.

Early on, we also caught a glimpse of a Pokemon brawl that looked more like a Unite match than a standard Pokemon battle. Serebii and Centro Leaks revealed that this is part of Scarlet & Violet's Let's Go style feature that lets you send a 'mon off to get items and auto battle other Pokemon completely independently. You can throw your Pokemon at groups of wild 'mons and either stay and watch or wander off to do something else.
