The sequel to Tales From the Borderlands that was announced by Gearbox earlier this year seemingly now has a release, launching for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and presumably PC on October 21.First spotted by Wario64 on Twitter, online retailer Amazon has listed physical copies of "New Tales From the Borderlands" for all of the previously mentioned platforms apart from PC (thanks, PushSquare). The release dates attached to these listings strongly suggest that the game will launch on October 21 later this year, although nothing has been confirmed by Gearbox just yet. The listing even includes a pretty in-depth plot synopsis."Take a stand against ruthless corporate overlords in this narrative-driven adventure," reads the listing's description. "Within the perpetually war-torn metropolis of Promethea, you'll control Anu, Octavio, and Fran on the worst day of their lives. Help these three lovable losers as they endeavor to change the world (and maybe even save it)! In case you missed the initial announcement, Gearbox announced that Tales From the Borderlands would be getting a sequel in April earlier this year, albeit without any input from original developer Telltale Games. It was also revealed that the sequel would focus on an entirely new cast of characters as Gearbox wants to try and expand the Borderlands universe as much as possible.
As for when we'll get an official announcement, Gamescom is right around the corner as is Geoff Keighley's relatively new showcase Gamescom Opening Night Live. The show will take place on September 23 and is a little over two hours, promising plenty of announcements and reveals. We already know that the developers behind Subnautica will show off their next game there, and Sonic Frontiers as well as multiple Xbox titles are also scheduled to be there.
