New World is a glitchy game--so glitchy that Amazon Games just can’t fix all the exploits players have found at once. Instead, the New World devs have resorted to handing out bans against players that make use of these exploits in the hopes it’ll curb the rampant cheating that’s going on (even though the game as-is technically allows it).

Now we’re finding out that there are even glitches to get around bans, leaving Amazon without any tools to fight exploit users.

Reddit user refugeeinaudacity posted two simple methods for players to evade bans on Steam. The first is to use Steam Family Sharing and just play the game using a different account. Since Family Sharing allows people in the same “family” to share games but using different accounts, it lets cheaters log into the game from a family member’s account to keep playing.

This has already been reported on the New World forums, so there's no need to alert the devs. Amazon hopes to "have a change out soon but it requires work from not just the game team, so there’s a ton of coordination happening to get this one addressed."

One suspects that any final solution to this exploit will need to involve Valve, so don't expect it to happy quickly.

But even if that gets solved, there's another exploit that allows players to evade bans without even enabling Family Sharing on Steam. Apparently, all you need to do is change your Steam account's email address to get around a ban. That's it. Sure, it's a bit of a pain whenever you need to log in with a new email address, but there are plenty of ways to get a free email out there.

So if SolidFPS wanted to get around that 23-hour ban he recently received, he could have just changed his email. Or if any of those coin sellers that just got banned want to go back to selling coins online, they can just change their email address.

Amazon is still working hard at squashing bugs and fixing exploits, but it looks like they're going to have to work harder still to keep New World afloat.
