When you shove thousands of gamers into one space, things can get weird. New World is no exception, as players report coming across bands of naked characters, doing everything from setting up impromptu fight clubs, to crawling on the floor in packs.

A Reddit post which documents one of these naked meetings is titled: "I have no idea what this is, but I’m in". In the clip, an unsuspecting player is running down the road, only to come across four others sans armour, crawling towards their destination instead.

Judging by the New World subreddit, this is not an isolated incident. "Yeah, I to have found random weird nudefests doing weird shit every now and again. And it always seems to be people not knowing each other as well", replies user papehtonk, to the post about the naked crawlers. TheGamer's resident New World expert also confirmed that this is a thing that's happening a lot (thanks Harry), proving that this unique little subculture isn't likely to go away anytime soon.

In another Reddit post, user Rygalia comes across two naked players fighting outside of a settlement, while others calmly watch on. The crowd sit in a circle around the nude combatants, and in great sportsmanship, neither player strays from the makeshift battleground set up by the audience. When one of them is down, everyone is then on their feet and jumping for joy around the victor.

Finally - in some posts I probably can't get away with sharing in this article - other players are getting their characters in some compromising positions. Of course, they're doing this in the middle of town for all to see, sometimes with ten of them getting in on the act at once. Say what you will about the server issues, but Amazon's venture into the MMO scene is already attracting the behaviour we've seen in others like World of Warcraft, so I think it's safe to say it's been a success.

If you want to get in on the action, New World is currently available exclusively for PC.
