A new way to kill in Amazon’s MMORPG New World has people really flipping…tables. Apparently, the game’s “Table Flip” emote deals damage to anyone nearby. In fact, you can kill someone with it. Here I was using axes and a sword to kill an enemy, like a fool.
This new and hilarious way to attack was discovered by a RedMossySquirrel over on Reddit. In a thread, they posted a quick 10-second video of the deadly emote in action. If you have not seen it before, the name “Table Flip” tells you all you need to know. A player summons a table and chair sits down and then flips the table in a fit of rage.
Of course, people are having a great time with this new bit of information. The comments under the video are filled with people planning out their next murder via house furniture. However, as one person notes, the emote does very little damage so to actually use it as a final blow, it would mean the target needs to be on its last (table) leg. Still, if I can bludgeon someone with a table emote, I am counting that as a win.
Another comment also mentions that this is not the first time that New World has had deadly emotes. Apparently, the “Finger Gun” emote allowed you to damage a target until it was fixed. If that is the case, then it is likely only a matter of time before the table goes from deadly weapon back to boring dining room furniture. So, get those flips in now.
If the emote is going to get patched out, it will likely occur later this month along with the Brimstone Sands update. This brings a more streamlined experience to the game by offering new locales and reducing some of the monotony that players have criticized. If that’s not the case, it may arrive with next month’s Fresh Start servers.
