We now know that the evolution of Meltan is Melmetal and it stands at over eight feet tall. Melmetal is mostly composed of liquid metal, which gives it an incredibly flexible and powerful body.

A new Pokémon named Meltan has been appearing to Pokémon Go players across the world. Meltan is a Pokémon made of liquid metal that has a metal nut for a head.

Meltan cannot be captured unless you trade an item from Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Let's Go Eevee. We know this due to a series of videos that show Professor Willow teaming up with Professor Oak to uncover the secrets of Meltan, the last of which was accompanied by a video that showed the silhouette of a larger creature that may have been the evolution of Meltan.

Melmetal is a Steel-type Pokémon that is referred to as the Hex Nut Pokémon. Meltan is classed as a Mythical Pokémon, which means that it is the first evolved form of a Mythical Pokémon in the series.

Melmetal has access to a unique move called Double Iron Bash, which hits multiple times and has a chance of making the enemy Pokémon flinch.

In order to evolve Meltan into Melmetal, you will need to use 400 Meltan candies in Pokémon Go. This process will likely be simplified when Meltan and Melmetal are added into the next mainline Pokémon games.

Like all of the Pokémon in the Let's Go games, you will be able to have Melmetal as a travel companion who walks behind you throughout your Pokémon journey.

Pokémon fans around the world have been trying to uncover the secrets of Meltan since it first started popping up in Pokémon Go and the truth behind it has now been revealed. Those of you who want to catch them all and don't own a Nintendo Switch will be forced to rely on the generosity of your friends in order to receive a mystery box, otherwise, Meltan and Melmetal will be beyond your grasp.

Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Let's Go Eevee will be released on November 16th.
