Nexomon: Extinction is a monster collection and battling game, walking on the path that Pokemon paved previously. Nexomon does a lot of original things while staying true to the core features of a good monster collection game. However, despite all the innovation, one thing is still true for the genre, it's all about the monsters.

Nexomon: Extinction, like the original Nexomon, differentiates itself from Pokemon by focusing on story and lore more than the genre giant. This opens the gates for unique types of monsters, interesting dynamics between characters, and much more. There's a Nexomon from each of the nine types, each strong in certain circumstances.

10 All Nine Starters

Nexomon: Extinction all nine starters on the selection screen

Unlike other games in the same genre, Nexomon goes generous with its starter options, with nine options for the player. Including each available type, this starter roster is anything but underwhelming. To begin with, the starters are all impeccably designed, ranging from creepy to adorable and fierce to unyielding.

The game does a great job of setting you up for success, as none of the starters are weak. Each one is among the best Nexemon of their respective types barring legendaries, so you really can't go wrong here. Remember that, unlike Pokemon, you can find these little monsters out in the wild and catch them. So a team of full starters is a viable option in Nexomon: Extinction.

Next is Arqua, the fifth daughter of King Omicron and the Tyrant of the Seas. Being a water type, Arqua has some excellent resistances being Fire, Mineral & Ghost. While its stats are nothing crazy among other legendaries, Arqua is pretty strong, regardless.

What makes Arqua great is its tanking capability. With access to skills like Freeze, Barrier, and Wave, Arqua can quickly become an annoyance. While at the bottom of the list, Arqua is a force to be reckoned with.

It's kind of weird seeing Ziegler so low on the list, considering its story significance and the supposed power it possesses. However, while its stats are not bad, and it has fantastic skills, what holds Ziegler back is its typing being Normal.

Not being strong against any type while being weak against the useful Ghost & Psychic types really hurt Ziegler's claim to power. It's described as the King of the Netherworld and a being so old that it might not even be a Nexomon. Unfortunately, it doesn't live up to its flavorful hype in game mechanics terms.

7 Boscage, Greater Drake Of Plants

Boscage is the Plant-type Greater Drake, and it's one of the better ones of them. Boasting impressive stats and decent typing, Boscage is an excellent addition to any legendary team looking for a Plant-type Nexomon.

Its stat distribution is that of a tank instead of a fast attacker, which is usually preferable in Nexomon. It has access to excellent skills like Solar Charge, Sonic Scream, and Forest Song; Boscage can dish out damage while crippling the opposing Nexomon and preventing it from doing much.

The next Greater Drake on this list is Dracon, following its kin, Boscage. Dracon has great HP, Attack, and Defense, all things a decent tank would love to have. Dracon is more than just a decent tank, though, and it's one incredible dragon to control.

With outstanding skills such as Disintegrate, Martial Arts, and Conflagration, Dracon will make short work of any unsuspecting foe. Unfortunately, its speed is not the best, but since Fire is a decent defensive typing in Nexomon, it makes up for it by having such excellent offensive capabilities.

5 Krowr, An Electrifying Tank

Krowr is described as Ziegler's frontline behemoth, ready to siege any enemy strongholds. Living up to this description, Krowr is another great example of a tank, just like Dracon and Boscage. With great stats, Krowr is likely the best Electric-type in the game.

Electric is a middle-of-the-road type, having three strengths and three weaknesses. However, it can effectively hit the dangerous Psychic type, which boosts Krowr's usability.

Hexia is described as Ziegler's most vicious follower, and it shows. This deadly monster boasts impressive stats for a bulky attacker. Unlike some other Nexomon on this list, however, it also has decent speed, being able to hit fast and hard simultaneously.

Hexia could be higher on this list if it weren't for its weaker Wind-type. Only being strong against two types in Grass & Mineral while being weak to Fire, Electric & Ghost holds Hexia back. However, it should say something about this dangerous monster that it's one of the best Nexomon despite that disadvantage.

3 Titan, Warden Of The Underworld

Titan is said to be created by Ziegler, who acts as the Underworld Warden and maintains the gates between the mortal world and Ziegler's Domain. Titan is so powerful for being relegated to the role of the doorman, though.

To begin with, Titan arguably has the best offensive typing in Ghost. With beneficial type interactions and impressive stats, Titan is an immediately dangerous tank that could plow through a whole team. It has some utility options, too, with the skills Absolute Barrier, Constrict and Recover. Titan is a swiss army knife of a Nexomon and doesn't even sacrifice power for versatility.

2 Omnisun, Son Of King Omicron

Omnisun, the evolved form of Solus, is the strongest Psychic-type in the game. With fantastic offensive stats and decent speed, Omnisun lives up to its title. Speaking of, Omnisun is described as the heir to King Omnicron and will supposedly shape the future of the Nexomon World. So yeah, good stuff.

Omnisun shines thanks to its Psychic-type. It's one of the best offensive typings, hitting Normal, Ghost & Electric for effective damage. It also has access to excellent skills like the broken Pendulum to incapacitate foes, Kinetic Mirror for returning damage, and Raging Focus for setting up. Omnisun can easily take out several opposing Nexomon if left unchecked.

1 Braccus, Abyssal Tyrant King

Braccus is described as the strongest of the Abyssal Tyrants, and that is a given, considering how Braccus is the strongest of the Nexomon period. It is described as leaving cities in ruin as it marches, and looking at those stats, it is scaringly believable.

Braccus has such high stats that you might get Mega-Rayquaza flashbacks if you're a Pokemon fan. Yes, his speed is lackluster, but who needs that when you're a damage sponge? Braccus also benefits from being a Mineral-type, not having a weakness to common offensive types like Psychic or Normal. Braccus is an absolute menace and should make you tremble if you ever face it.
