Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds is the mobile MMO extension of the popular JRPG franchise. In this gacha-style game, you collect and craft equipment, hatch cute animal familiars, and participate in a number of quests. Besides the main quests, you can complete deliveries, gain reputation around the castle, and collect all kinds of extras to help with defeating monsters.
Some side quests are necessary to advance your gameplay, but the game itself isn’t going to tell you which ones. Luckily, the best quests you need to complete are in one handy list for you to remember.
9 Always Do Your Dailies
As with any MMO or gacha game there are daily collectibles, as well as side quests that refresh on a daily and weekly basis. These quests and rewards are going to give you the best bonuses, and they take little to no effort and time to complete.
Once you are logged into your server, make sure you head for these first, so you can receive goodies that you can use on summons and power-ups, for more important main quest events throughout your day.
8 Delivering The Egg
One of the first side quests you run into in Cross Worlds is delivering an egg to Great Uncle Autumn for Platypaws. An easy and quick mission, Egg Delivery introduces you to your very first familiar.
Your familiar is a randomly hatched animal companion that helps you during combat, so this is a very important mission you should make sure not to skip over in your rush to get to the center of the kingdom. It’s going to be hard to replace your first best friend in the game when you get more eggs later.
7 The Suspicious Box
Alongside Cluu, you are sent to investigate a mysterious box. When you get there, you find that the box has a resident, a being proclaiming to be a Box Genie.
After some fretting about the dreaded Jar Genies, and after being sent to kick some jars in retaliation, you get back just in time to save the Box Genie from some meddling adventurers giving it a hard time. You'll return to this box a few more times, with its requests getting even sillier every time.
6 Terrified Villager
A local man found in the village has put out a request for you to stop the horrible, terrifying monsters that have been plaguing his mind and keeping him up at night. It turns out these scary beings are just Pluffs, ugly, round little creatures that basically just plod around and get in the way.
Quests are quests though, so it’s time to work off some aggression in the form of Pluff kickball. Return to the villager after a few good kicks for a reward.
5 A Star Is Born
Going to see Elfina introduces a new and humorous mechanic to Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds — social media. That’s right, now you can take selfies and post them for all to see on an in-game platform that's a mixture of Twitter and Instagram.
It’s up to you whether you want to put yourself out there, but you do, you'll unlock a couple of dye packages and some other stylish goodies, as well as the photography feature.
4 Entirely Too Many Hats
Visiting Three Brother Birds for side quests eventually initiates a request to return a crow hat to Sona over at her shopfront. Turns out, she’s loaned out more than one hat, because Bert calls you over to bring her a Swift Solutions hat as well.
When you get there, Sona comically mentions that she has too many hats now, and offers you a few of them. Of course, Cluu has to run his mouth and you only end up with one new hat by the end of the exchange.
3 Swift Solutions At Your Service
Bert is the owner and operator of Swift Solutions, a combination of mercenary and goods-delivery service. He’s down on employees, and desperate to dole out work to just about anyone who will accept it. This is where you come in.
Keeping up with Swift Solutions side quests and running around for Bert will ensure that you have a steady flow of money and resources coming in. Take the time to do these quests and you'll never have to worry about how you’re going to fund your next upgrade.
2 Heartland Well Monsters
Sanson of the Royal Guard has more than a few side quests for you to fulfill before you’re actually allowed inside the castle grounds, but the most useful one is when you’re summoned to defeat the monsters within the Southern Heartland Well.
Before you head out, Sanson will stop you, and show you how to polish your armor and equipment for extra bonuses during combat. He may be slow to respect you, but maybe Sanson is an alright guy after all.
1 A Treasure, Forgotten
Sona calls upon you for a side quest after she is stood up by one of her customers. Instead of payment, the customer left Sona a note describing directions to a great treasure.
However, when you follow the directions to retrieve the treasure for her, you’re ambushed by bandits who have set the whole thing up. Although this treasure is fake, you don’t leave empty-handed — the bandits leave behind a shiny key that you can use to open a chest in the future.
