GameMill has finally given those of us waiting for a Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl a closer look at the only thing we really care about: Nigel Thornberry's move set.

We are now only a week away from the launch of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. A fighting game inspired by Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. except its roster features nothing but characters from Nicktoons' extensive back catalog. Cat Dog, Helga from Hey Arnold, and, of course, SpongeBob Squarepants will all be playable characters in All-Star Brawl when it launches next week.

The game's developer GameMill has been offering up detailed looks at some of the characters' move sets, and today it showcased someone everybody has been waiting to see: Nigel Thornberry. The patriarch of the Thornberry family can be seen in all of his glory in the video below, performing his entire move set on Patrick Star, and then using those moves in a match against SpongeBob.

While GameMill can't openly admit that its game is very, very similar to Smash, the similarities are there for all to see. In fact, the narrator of the video above even hints at it when showing off one of Nigel's moves. Nigel's move set includes something called Falcon Dive, which the narrator jokingly almost calls a Falcon Kick, even putting on the Captain Falcon voice before backing up.

What no one would have expected from Nigel's All-Star Brawl move set is a powerful flick that is clearly inspired by Jigglypuff's rest. Smash players will know that the move is one with a tiny hitbox which, if performed perfectly, deals a huge amount of damage and will likely send the targeted opponent careening from the stage. Not only is Nigel's flick clearly that in All-Star Brawl, it even requires you to hit the same buttons to perform it. Well, at least it will do on Nintendo Switch.

Most of Nigel's move set is (obviously) based around nature. That's what his hit show The Wild Thornberrys was themed around after all. The fighter's stage also includes a cameo appearance from Darwin, the Thornberrys' talking pet monkey. That may mean Darwin never becomes a playabale character himself. An early candidate for the role of Waluigi in All-Star Brawl, perhaps.
