Shredder has joined the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl roster, and is available to download now. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles villain is the second free DLC character to join the game, following Garfield's popular inclusion in December.

Shredder had been anticipated by players for some time, with his status as the next fighter already being revealed via a datamine around the time of launch. Shredder's shadowdrop comes with a new trailer showing him in action, indicating that he'll handle very differently from his fellow TMNT fighters.

This adds to the steady stream of content the platform fighter has received since its release last October, which has so far included new fighters and alternate costumes. Much more is expected down the line, with the developers having previously promised to add voice acting to the game, which is still notable for its absence.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl's developers have previously admitted that the fighter had a rough launch. In the official Discord, one of the devs said the team was "playing a lot of catch-up" with the post-launch content, but reassured fans that there is "absolutely no threat" of the planned DLC being cancelled by the publisher. This means we should still have more fighters on the way.

With any luck, we won't have as much of a gap between the next update as we had this time around. Fans believe that the devs were hinting towards voice lines being added soon when they announced that a new fighter would be added today. "I know it's been more of a quiet spell on my end for the game which was disappointing, so I'm hoping this will help me pivot back to blabbering", said Thaddeus Crews, character designer and programmer for the game. Reading between the lines, this could be a suggestion that fighters won't be silent for much longer either, and it wouldn't be the first time a tweet was used to hint what content is coming in the future.

Anyone with a copy of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl can play as Shredder now with the latest update. If this is enough to make you want to pick it up, you can grab it on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
