It’s starting to look like the Nier Automata show will have just as many secrets as the game. For example, the anime features hexadecimal codes that can be translated into English or Japanese which will provide the viewer with hidden messages.We have anime insider @aitaikimochi to thank for pointing this out and providing us with translations. The first instance comes when 9S goes through a door leading to the wedding facade. It reads, "I promise love for eternity," which sounds a lot like a wedding vow. And the code seen in episode 2 translates to "ãã‚Œã¯äººé¡žã®çŸ¥æ€§ã¨ä½•ãŒé•ã†ã®ã ã‚ã†ã‹," or "how is that different from human intelligence?"For more, we turn to Kotaku, which translates the messages shown before and after the commercial breaks. These are shown just for a split second mixed in with the video glitch effects, so they're easy to miss. In the first episode, there are three messages. First is, "An android is a being that repeats life and death," the second is "Will the chain of reincarnation bring salvation or collapse?," and the third is simply "resistance."
As pointed out by a fan, Yoko Taro is known to include hidden messages encoded in hexadecimal. In the Nier Automata OST, Taro throws in a thank-you message to fans in hex.
Unfortunately, we're going to have to wait for the next episodes of the Nier Automata anime to air. In a message posted over the weekend, the official anime Twitter account posted a notification stating the show is being delayed due to COVID-19.
"Thank you for your continued support of the Nier: Automata Ver.1.1a TV anime," the statement reads. "Due to the impact of COVID-19 on production, we have decided to postpone the broadcast and distribution of episode four and all subsequent episodes. Information regarding the broadcast and distribution schedule for episode four and beyond will be announced on the official anime website and official Twitter soon."
