Early on in Nier Replicant, you will be tasked with going to the Aerie to speak to the village chief there about Sealed Verses in order to progress the storyline. This is also the point in the game when side quests open up, and there is a number of them immediately available within Nier's village.
Before you head to the Aerie, be sure to grab the "Fragile Delivery" quest from the guard as you exit your village, as this also needs to go to the chief's house. We're going to cover how to get to the Chief's houses and how to complete the "Fragile Delivery" quest just below.
Fragile Delivery Quest
This quest can be accepted from the gate guard on the left-hand side of the gate as you exit towards the Northern Plains (as shown above), which is the way you want to head to get to the Aerie.
Note: This package is fragile. If you use your evade/roll button or get hit by an enemy — the package will break. However, you can return to the gate guard to get another package if this happens.
First of all, you need to make your way across the Northern Plains to the Aerie, as shown above. There are shades in this area that you need to watch out for. We recommend keeping your distance and using Dark Lance and Dark Blast to take care of them from afar.
You can block attacks without breaking the package, but this only works for enemies in front of you. If one hits you from behind, it will break. Alternatively, you can just outrun the shades and jump over them.
Once you reach the Aerie, save at the post box so that if you fail your delivery you can just reload your save file from the main menu, rather than run back all the way to Nier's Village to get another package.
Where is the Chief's House?
As you enter the Aerie you will receive a cutscene, and then as you reach the first platform, another small cutscene will play showing that the chief's house is the golden-colored building above you to your right.
The Aerie has a few different paths to take, so we're going to guide you straight to the chief's house with recommendations on keeping your fragile delivery intact. Immediately after the cutscene that shows your intended destination, shades will spawn on this first large platform. While outrunning shades was an option in the Northern Plains, we recommend defeating most shades within the Aerie.
Take care of the shades with Dark Lance/Dark Blast and then run forwards and aim for the ladder on your right, as shown below. After the initial wave on the platform, more shades will spawn as you reach the ladder, but you can easily get to the ladder and start climbing without them attacking you.
Once you reach the top of the ladder, you want to move to your right past the houses. Be warned, as you reach the last house/platform before the bridge, more shades will spawn. Be ready for these and try to keep your back to something to stop them from getting behind you.
Shades will spawn on the bridge you need to cross and they fire out orb projectiles at you that you need to watch out for. You can destroy these orbs with your own magical attacks or jump over them. Either way, take care of the shades with your ranged attacks and progress forward across the bridge slowly, defeating any new shades that spawn.
As you reach the end of the bridge, a large shade will spawn. Take it down from afar to keep your package safe. Then you just need to head up the ladder on your right and you'll find yourself at the chief's house.
You'll need to interact with the chief's house twice. Once to progress the storyline, and again to deliver the package and complete your "Fragile Delivery" quest. When you return to Nier's village, be sure to hand in your quest to the gate guard to receive your reward.
