A large part of Nier Replicant will see you gathering different raw materials in order to complete quests and upgrade your weapons. Some materials are easy to obtain, with some being available from different merchants and others having plenty of gathering spots. However, some materials are harder to get than others.
Lizard Tails are one of the more elusive raw materials as they are not obtained from glowing gathering spots, are not dropped from enemies, and cannot be bought. In order to get a Lizard Tail, you'll need to go lizard hunting. Fortunately for you, we can tell you exactly where you need to go.
Where can you find Lizard Tails?
Lizard Tails can be obtained by finding and catching lizards. These little critters can be hard to spot and they are fast-moving, but once you are close enough a small white arrow will appear above them to indicate their presence.
Lizards will run away from you when you are close, so chase them down and as soon as the white indicator turns yellow — press your interaction button to obtain your Lizard Tail.
Where can you find Lizards?
Northern Plains
Lizards spawn in a couple of places. Firstly, you can find them in the Northern Plains, which you can find by taking the northern exit out of Nier's village. There are three different spawns at any one time, and they can be found in the following locations:
- Just after the bridge on the eastern side of the map.
- At the top of the slope leading down towards the river.
- At the bottom of the slope near the river.
All of the spawn locations are shown on the map above. You can leave the area and re-enter to make the lizards respawn so that you can farm to your heart's content.
Eastern Path
Another area you can find them in is the Eastern Path map, which you can reach by taking the eastern exit out of Nier's village. There are also three different spawn points in this area:
- Before the path forks.
- A little way down the path to the Shrine.
- A little way down the path to the Desert.
All spawn locations are shown on the map above. Don't forget, you can leave the area and re-enter to make them respawn.
