You've made it to the Confinement Room with Seven and Lotus and now must make your escape once again. Although the name suggests one room, the Confinement Room of Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors actually consists of several rooms that you can freely explore. Fortunately, we are here to help you navigate the rooms in this area.
In this guide, we will be looking at how to successfully escape the Confinement Room. With this guide, you will have no problem navigating the rooms in the Confinement area. Similar to our other 999 guides, you will find no plot spoilers here. Let's first take a look at the layout of the Confinement Room.
Confinement Room Layout
When you enter the Confinement Room, you will be in a long hallway.
To the left side of the hallway, you can find three 'bedrooms', which contain a dirty bed and some desk furniture, as well as a sink and toilet. All three of these rooms have the same general layout.
On the other side of the hallway, you will find just one door that is locked.
How To Escape The Confinement Room
Now, it's time to make your escape. To kick things off, head through the first door along the wall.
Once inside, look at the toilet area of the room. Upon inspection of the toilet paper holder, you notice that the holder is made out of a removable metal rod. Grab this and then face the toilet.
While looking at the toilet, interact with the handle and add it to your inventory as well. Combine this handle with the metal rod to get the full screwdriver.
Now that you have this new tool, you can use it to unlock the desk drawer in the same room. Rather than grabbing something from the drawer, you will just grab the entire drawer and add it to your inventory.
You've now looked at everything in the first room, so it's time to head back into the hallway and enter the second door.
When you make it inside, head over to the desk and remove the drawer. Upon looking at it in your inventory, you notice that there is a mirror on the bottom side, and the knob can be taken off. Combine the screwdriver with this drawer to remove the knob.
Now, take the drawer you removed from the first room and place it in this slot. When you do this, you will hear a dropping noise. Opening up the drawer again will reveal a tile. Grab this and then turn to face the bed.
On the bed, you will see a towel folded with a blue image on it. This image appears to be water flowing into a larger body of water. With this in mind, face the sink in the second room.
Using the knob from the drawer, attach it to the faucet and turn the sink on.
Return to the first room and look at the sink now. You should see that it has filled up with water, and a tile is now available to grab. Add this tile to your inventory and then make your way to the third room.
The third room is darker than the other two, but you will still be able to see what is around you. A beam of light is in the center of the room; here, you will place the drawer you took from the second room, with a mirror on the back. This will cause the light to reflect on the wall.
Once the mirrored drawer is placed, you will see sun and moon symbols appear on the left-hand wall. Click on the mirrored draw to change the orientation, causing light to reflect on the other side now. Opposite of the symbols, you will see a 4 and 7 appear.
These symbols and numbers are clues to how to unlock the drawer in the third room. With this information, you will need to flush the toilets in the first and second rooms a specific number of times.
Sun and moon symbols can be found on the lids of the toilets, providing an additional hint as to how many times each one needs to be flushed.
To successfully open the drawer in the third room, follow the steps below.
- Head into the first room and flush the toilet four times.
- Enter the second room after doing this and flush the toilet seven times.
After you have done this, the drawer in the third room will unlock, and you can grab two tiles.
Now, you are on the very last step to escaping the Confinement Room. Go back into the hallway and face the door on the right-hand side. This final puzzle is pretty simple; all you need to do is replace four tiles with the tiles that you have in your inventory.
To solve this, replace every 'E' in the word with your tiles. Once this is done, the door will unlock!
After completing this escape room, you will be in the Torture Room, where you must make another escape.
