After the sudden death of rapper Jarad “Juice WRLD” Higgins earlier this morning, Ninja took to twitter to pay his respects.

Waking up to @JuiceWorlddd passing from a seizure... I loved his music and he was my most listened to artist in 2019. Im heartbroken, my love goes out to his family and loved ones. To soon man,” he writes.

Ninja followed this up by retweeting his own post from a few days ago that included an image of his Spotify Wrapped artist of the year. Music lovers from all over the world took to social media in a frenzy last week to share their 2019 musical preferences. Just a couple days prior to Juice WRLD’s untimely death, Ninja thanked the rapper for spending over 45 hours with him over the course of the year as his most-listened-to artist.

Juice WRLD, whose music is listened to all over the world, climbed the charts in 2018 with his lead single “Lucid Dreams,” which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. He’s responsible, along with fellow late rappers Lil Peep and XXX Tentacion, for helping popularize the growing emo-rap movement. This year, he debuted at number one with his follow-up album, “Death Race For Love.” Having just turned 21, Juice WRLD had a promising career ahead of him.

Ninja regularly featured Juice’s music on his streams and was undoubtedly a big fan. He wasn’t the only gaming icon to share his condolences on social media this morning, however. “Cloakzy,” along with many other Fortnite stars, tweeted their support. “Bro no :( another legend gone too soon, Prayers go out to friends and family,” Cloakzy writes. Ninja, Cloakzy, and others are still set to compete in the FNCS Season Finals (NA East) at 4 p.m. today.

The cause of Juice WRLD’s death is still undetermined. He suffered from a seizure after arriving at Chicago’s Midway Airport. First responders arrived to find him unconscious in the terminal. He was then taken to Christ Medical Center, but efforts to revive him proved unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
