Over the decades, Nintendo has been a video gaming giant when it comes to creating memorable games and characters. They have been responsible for gaming franchises like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Metroid and Super Smash Bros. Even among those examples, that is just the tip of the iceberg. They have been providing plenty of characters with memorable moments, and they still do to this day.

Of course, with so many generally happy memories, there are moments in Nintendo's games that can just come off as silly, nonsensical, and it can be pretty funny at times. The internet has been the best source of humor and of course, they take some of the most memorable moments and spoof it off as a meme. There are an incredible amount of fan-made comics and memes that can take even the best Nintendo games and make them look silly. So sit back and enjoy 30 different comics and memes that I have found across the web that are worthy of a few good laughs. These comics will range from funny acts that could mirror a real-life gaming experience with friends to logic-defying moments that will remind you of the limitations of video games. After all, if you love something, you can laugh at it — and all gamers love Nintendo to the very core. They've made classic games that

30 Fox Is Curious About Samus' Arm Cannon

via pinterest

Samus' arm cannon does many wondrous things and packs quite an impressive arsenal. Her arm cannon can fire powerful energy beam, wave beam, ice beam, plasma beam, a grapple beam, and missiles as well. So of course, Fox McCloud would be rather curious as to how does the technology of Chozo weaponry works. Star Fox's on foot weaponry hasn't really been all that impressive. Fox and Falco pack a basic laser gun for Super Smash Bros. and the only game to have featured on foot missions was Star Fox Assault where they had some decent weaponry but not as impressive as what Samus has.

Samus' response to Fox here was pretty funny as she probably does have some impressive set of "guns" knowing that she is running around in her Varia Suit nearly all the time, but it may not necessarily be false either. If you have played any of the Metroid Prime Trilogy games (and if you haven't, then I strongly recommend playing them, one of the greatest trilogies in video games), you could actually see with the X-Ray visor that Samus uses certain hand signs as a signal for what beam she uses, so there is some truth that her arms could technically be the guns.

29 There Are No Boxing Ropes In Smash Mac!

via pinterest

Ah yes, one of the more common forms of self-destruction in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Little Mac is a strong character to use while on the ground, but his aerial abilities are severely lacking. One move, in particular, his side special called "Jolt Haymaker" is a high risk, high reward type of move. Little Mac dives towards the target, covering a lot of ground while dodging low attacks, and unleashes a powerful haymaker on the opponent if it hits. This move is a great finishing move, however, it covers so much ground in the air, that if Little Mac doesn't hit anyone then he'll just fly right by them. This makes the move very dangerous to use near the edges. Since this is considered a recovery move, Little Mac can't use any other move or jumps if he is airborne.

That is what makes this comic funny, it perfectly sums up one of Super Smash Bros. most common epic fails.

I can't begin to tell you how many times I faced off against a Little Mac and my opponent used Jolt Haymaker and flew off the stage because I dodged it and I am guilty of doing this myself. On a side note, I like how Luigi has a similar look to Glass Joe, Little Mac's first and easiest opponent.

Poor Princess Zelda, it must be extremely stressing to worry about the fate of your kingdom and not being able to do much of anything at all. Thankfully you have a hero chosen from the gods to embark on an epic adventure, braving many dangerous elements, and willing to battle against evil monstrosities to rescue you and the people of Hyrule.

Except Link could be just fooling around playing with cuccos and just having the time of his life exploring the land of Hyrule.

What's funny is that if you have played The Legend Of Zelda games before, then you likely have taken time yourself to mess around in the game's environments. Collecting rupees by breaking pots, catching small creatures, running around chasing around cuccos because, well, why not? Even the most veteran players fool around. After all, you never know when you might stumble upon a piece of heart or a korok seed. The question is, is Princess Zelda saying we're doomed because of Link's carelessness or could she be referencing the relentless and deadly pursuit of the horde of cuccos? We may never know.

27 Bro Do You Even Carry Pokémon?

via pinterest.com

You may have seen a previous article that I wrote about how Pokédex entries can at often times make no sense. The weight is also a part of the information that the Pokédex contains. A lot of Pokémon can appear to be lighter or heavier than they appear. Usually, rock or steel type Pokémon can weight a ton even if they are just a few feet tall. So when the animated series or events in the video games Pokémon are being carried around outside of their Pokéball, sometimes you might see something that was overlooked and therefore, shouldn't be able to be carried physically.

In the Pokémon animated series, Ash temporarily took responsibility of taking care of a newborn Larvitar, which weighs over 150 pounds, that is a lot of weight to be carrying for a long period of time. Additionally, in a different point of the series, a Hippopotas made a habit of resting on Ash's head. As you can tell from the picture, that is over 100 pounds resting on his head. I guess Ash is as rock-headed as some of his companions believed. The weight inside Lillie's bag is from the Pokémon Cosmoem, a pre-evolved legendary Pokémon that is like a cocoon waiting to hatch. Lillie was carrying it inside her bag after Cosmog evolved. She is obviously not the type to be a powerlifter, so I'm just going to say that Cosmoem was able to float and reduce the weight in Lillie's bag.

26 Watch Out Nohrians, Takumi Has A Special Message For You!

via pinterest.com

This comic is a good mockery of Takumi from Fire Emblem Fates. Takumi is a hot headed royal sibling of the Hoshido family who's hatred of the Nohrians became his obsession. He seems to think that everyone not of Hoshido blood is an enemy, so when Corrin comes around being raised by the Nohrian, Takumi has a preset mentality of not accepting or trusting anything Corrin says or does. Takumi's hatred has lead to some memorable and cheesy lines. One of those lines would be how he references Nohrian soldiers, calling them "Nohrian scum."

It is a pretty funny comic because nearly every time Takumi unleashes a critical hit he usually yells out "Nohrian scum." Considering Takumi is a skillful character that is very good at getting critical hits, in addition to his weapon, the Fuji Yumi being a weapon that does have a higher chance of triggering critical hits, you would hear Takumi's line very very often. It would make a lot of sense that just about every arrow Takumi shoots has "Nohrian scum" written on it and basically trace out the message. Just be careful of the power of "BETRAYAL!" otherwise his arrows could be the last thing you see.

25 Ain't No Party Like A Mario Party!

via nerdragecomic.com

There were not many local multiplayer gaming nights that was as great as a Mario Party night back in the Nintendo 64 era. The first three Mario Party games were some of the best multiplayer experiences on that system. Unfortunately, Mario Parties after that started to become stale and eventually different than the feel of the originals, they didn't have much that would facilitate the desire for a local multiplayer night like Super Smash Bros. or Mario Kart would.

What made Mario Party a great series was how seemingly random and crazy the mini-games would get, while remaining incredibly fun and addicting to play. Many of the mini-games would involve perilous challenges like braving sharks and bloopers to find treasure, and playing hot potato with a bob-omb, as well as silly challenges like trying to match a morphed face, and balancing on a rubber ball while trying to knock others off a stage.

These weren't your typical family night game of cards, these were battles of survival!

Winning these mini-games results in earning coins, which you need to buy stars. Sometimes these games were so competitive that friendships had to be put on hold. The last section of this comment accurately represents the desire to win by many Mario Party players.

24 The Struggle Is Real For Pidgeot, It's Not Very Effective!

via pinterest

It's pretty spectacular how a Pokémon could use four different attacks of varying strength and effects, but just like regular human athletes, even Pokémon can get tired after battling consecutively for an extended period of time. Pokémon using struggle is hilariously portrayed in this comic when a Pidgeot suddenly can't use any of its moves anymore and has to respond by attacking in a way that it isn't used to attacking. Just wind up and swing your feathery fists Pidgeot! But it looks like Pidgeot's extension might have just rubbed off of Psyduck's likely slippery head at followed through back at itself, knocking itself out! Talk about an embarrassing defeat!

It appears Psyduck has won by doing absolutely nothing.

This is why Pidgeot can't learn any punching moves. It's unfortunate it couldn't use fly to take down Psyduck, yet it is totally ok to fly. Somehow it has found its strength to carry it's trainer to the nearest Pokémon center. No matter how strong a Pokémon is, if it has to resort to struggling then it is nearly impossible to win a battle because struggle's recoil will do far more damage than what is dealt to the opposing Pokémon.

23 Don't Make Hector Mad. You Won't Like Him When He Is Mad.

Hector is one bad dude from the Fire Emblem franchise. He is one of the main characters in the first American game in the series, Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. Even to this day, he is still one of the most impressive characters in the series. Hector has an incredible build of the attack stat and the defense stat, once he upgrades his unit class from Lord to Great Lord and obtains the legendary axe. Armads, he is just about as unstoppable as a one-man army.

But what makes this comic a classic is looking at how character sprite animations looked in Fire Emblems on the Game Boy Advance.

Fire Emblem battle animations on the Game Boy Advance were much more simple and basic compared to how they look nowadays on the Nintendo 3DS. The sprites in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade (as well as The Binding Blade and Sacred Stones) can actually appear more violent. In this example, a common soldier's lance will go straight through the target, looking pretty lethal. It doesn't bounce off if the attack does no damage, so you can imagine how it would look if a soldier tried to attack Hector with a stab. It would look something just like this comic.

22 A True Gentleman Leaves No Puzzle Unsolved, Even If He Has To Guess For The Right Answer.

While he has been retired for a few years now, Professor Hershel Layton is one of the most interesting and brilliant characters to be featured in Nintendo published games. The Professor Layton series always featured a lot of interesting and unique puzzles. Some of them can be pretty difficult and require a lot of outside the box thinking. If you are not of the critical thinking type, it can be a hard game to finish, but the story that is told is often worth it. Professor Layton uses his smarts to help with a lot of detective work, so he is well acquainted with detectives and in moments where he reveals a hidden culprit, he does an awesome point at the true villain when he solves a major mystery, thus he has quite the positive reputation.

This comic does a great job of reflecting moments that players likely go through in this series.

You are presented with a tough puzzle, and you may not have a clue about your answer, you have the ability to spend hint coins for hints to help you, but sometimes (especially late game) the hints can barely provide anything useful. So your last resort is to play the guessing game (or go online for the answer like we all did in college), eventually, you are bound to get the correct answer and all of the characters will still be amazed at your work of brilliance!

21 When Magikarp Won't Let You Run Away

Are you trying to capture a rare Pokémon that can only be found by fishing? Well, I hope you have a lot of patience because fishing for the right Pokémon could take some time, even if you have the right fishing rod. In fact, you would practically need something other than the old rod, because if you go out there with one of those, well then you will pretty much be reeling in Magikarp the majority of the time. Yeah, that will get repetitive, and the sight of a such a pathetic Pokémon (even some Pokédex entries says so) can get irritating, like our trainer friend here in this comic.

Don't lose valuable time, get yourself a higher leveled, quick Pokémon.

Another Magikarp? meh just run away. Wait a minute, you have a Pokémon that is very under leveled and actually slower? Good luck trying to run away then. If you are not careful that Magikarp could take your Pokémon hostage and you could lose valuable time. Less time means less efficiency. This advice also applies to caves knowing that nearly every single cave is home to Zubats and Golbats. The faster the wild Pokémon are the more tedious wild encounters becomes.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild is one of the finest games Nintendo has ever created. The attention to detail of the level design and gameplay is absolutely stunning. But even a game as great as Breath of The Wild can have certain lapses where things you could do just make no sense. In the game, you can cook foods in order to boost certain attributes, one of those effects is to refill the stamina meter. It's being able to eat simply by pausing is where things appear odd.

Here the one-eyed giant known as a Hinox is waiting for his next meal. Oddly enough his next target is flying in the air. However, based on the stamina meter that I'm sure the Hinox isn't even aware of, it looks like Link is about to take an unfortunate fall that could lead to an unfortunate end. Somehow, someway, Link is able to pull out a whole meal in mid-air! How can this be? He only has two hands to hold on to the paraglider. Whatever he ate had some crazy fast acting effect that gave him the strength to hold on for a bit longer. Poor Hinox, at least he has the plate of Link's leftovers, which doesn't look like much. Maybe next time big guy.

19 There Is Nothing Worse Than Getting Shown Up By Your Rival

Via: Pinterest.com

This comic is one of the great classics. I remember certain pokemon that were flying types but were not able to learn the move Fly. It was a bit frustrating sometimes because you would like to have that option to fast travel as well as the fact that Fly was actually one of the few flying type attacks that had any decent power to it back in the days of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow. Yet Pokémon like Scyther can't learn the ability to use Fly despite being a flying type and appearing large enough to carry a human on it's back. What gives Nintendo?

Scyther can't fly a human, but a small bird-like Spearow can?

How frustrating must that be? You catch yourself a pretty cool looking pokemon, but it you are unable to teach it Fly. Yet your rival (we'll just call him Gary for now) can teach it to such a small little bird? Gary seems to make quite a living showing you up, always being ahead of you in your race to obtain gym badges. Showing you up with a simple little Spearow (and the look on his face) makes this comic one of the funniest around.

18 Luigi, Forever Nintendo's Player 2.

Being in his brother Mario's shadow all the time, Luigi rarely got a lot of attention in the gaming world. That changed in 2013 when Nintendo declared the year would be dedicated to Luigi with multiple games that star Mario's sibling. That year, there were 4 games that Luigi would be the main character of: New Super Luigi U, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, and Dr. Luigi.

Overall it was a pretty memorable year for the brother in green, but did it really help change his image of being ignored?

Going of the narrative of this funny comic, it really didn't. Luigi hasn't really been a featured character since, he didn't even appear in Super Mario Odyssey until a free update well after the game's release. But do you want to know who did? Captain Toad! That's right, a basic toad who made his living as an explorer has appeared in multiple mainstream Mario games, and now even had his own game released on Wii U (with a port to the Nintendo Switch). This must make Luigi mad, and soon he will come back with a Mario Kart "death stare" vengeance to overtake Mario as Nintendo's main mascot!

Probably...

via dorkly.com

Do you remember how much of a struggle it was to advance at the beginning of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild? Anytime an enemy spotted you and managed to get a hit on you, it would be quite an impact. With only 3 hearts and not much to protect yourself with, you are very venerable at the start of the game. Often times, any hit you took was pretty capable of knocking you out in one hit, especially if you were playing the DLC master mode. It was practically a battle for survival until you built up your strength to take a few shots.

This comic truly represents the average player's experience with the game.

After you spend some time on the game, increase your heart count, collect some powerful weapons, and found some decent clothing, your baddie troubles will quickly become a thing of the past. The enemies in Breath of The Wild will start to feel more of a nuisance than a threat. Why not just have fun with it by taking selfies while it tries to attack you? Certainly, it would make a battle more interesting and you could get some funny moments from it.

16 3rd World Problems VS 1st World Problems

via dorkly.com

Another comic from the same series, but in the same way it is a funny one because of how true it is. Because of how limiting the space is for Breath of The Wild initially, having different weapons would be a good idea. Of course, there is also the issue of weapons breaking rather quickly, forcing you to be resourceful and choosing when to engage in a fight. Once you obtain stronger weapons that last a bit longer, then weapon collecting starts becoming more of an annoyance. Weapons you used to treasure start becoming more and more frequent to the point where you would have to leave behind quality weapons.

Thank you tree branch, you are the real MVP!

This just puts further emphasis on being thankful for what you do have. It is important to take the small things and appreciate them for what they are worth. So to the first little tree branch that you encounter, I thank you for being the first possible weapon to pick up. Thanks to you, you started a long-term snowball effect where I was able to overcome the early challenges and continue to get stronger weapons.

15 Nintendo 2DS Why Do You Even Exist?

via: funnyjunk.com

The Nintendo 3DS is a very successful system that continues Nintendo's dominant history in handheld video game systems. However, in 2013 Nintendo made an interesting decision and released a new design for the system. This redesign stripped the Nintendo 3DS of its signature glasses-free 3D feature for a very bulky design. It was a very perplexing decision as to why Nintendo would make a redesign like that. Redesigns are nothing new for them, but usually, they are redesigns that make a product better, not worse. This comic represents the question every gamer asked when Nintendo unveiled it: "Why?" There was no need to make it, or so it seemed.

Nintendo's public reasoning for the creation of the 2DS was to create a system that children under the age of 7 can use since they are advised to not play games in 3D. However, the real reason why is because of a lawsuit they lost to a former Sony employee claiming that he had already had the glasses-free 3D technology patented. Thus Nintendo was ordered to pay that person about 1% of the sales that are made by the 3DS system. By designing a 2DS, they are not in violation of that patent, thus sales from any 2DS system wouldn't go to the guy. Sneaky move Nintendo!

14 What? There Is An Easier Way To Get Rupees From Pots?

via pinterest.com

One of the many ways Link can appear to be fooling around during his epic adventure is how he, *ahem*, "collects" rupees. One of the common ways of finding rupees is taking every pot and breaking them to collect the goods inside. This comic depicts what is hilariously wrong with that. Princess Zelda barges in wondering why on earth is Link destroying all of the pots, to which Link responds with his secret to how he gets rich, only for Zelda to respond by showing Link why pots are not piggy banks. MIND BLOWN! Who would have thought that you can just put your hand inside a pot to grab whats inside?

At least Link can pay for all the broken pots with all the rupees he collected from them.

It's pretty spectacular that has been such a common possibility for most of the Legend of Zelda games, you would think that at some point the people of Hyrule would do something to prevent Link from doing it again. I guess they just don't want to possibly criminalize the legendary hero chosen by the Goddess, it would not be a good look for sure.

13 Such A Nice Gesture By Mario - Or Not.

via: galladedolive.deviantart.com

Isn't that nice of Mario to do for Luigi? Just slow down a bit and let your typically 2nd place brother take home the gold. Oh, wait, Mario is doing this in order to win? Well, it looks like he was being trailed by a blue shell all of this time. That's why Mario gave up the first place position, now the blue shell is going after Luigi! This was a common tactic for how players avoided blue shells in Mario Kart if they were involved in a tight race or sometimes if 1st place is getting hit, then they will try to take others with them.

Poor Luigi, it seems like he can never catch a break.

Just when you think he is going to be the winner or the center of attention reality slaps him back in the face. In a funny way, this kind of represents life sometimes, things can be going well and then BAM! Adversity hits. Whenever Luigi is about to win or has a year of games dedicated to him, it always looks good for a short while, but eventually, he is reverted back to being player 2. Just another warning of the pending doom of the reign of Luigi.

12 When Karma Catches Up To Captain Toad

via: ronnieracoon.deviantart.com

This comic brings back memories from all of those years ago when Mario was trying to rescue Princess Peach from occupation of Bowser in Super Mario Bros. Just when he has finished traversing through a dangerous castle in hopes of rescuing Peach he would be greeted by a random toad who then tells Mario that the Princess is in another castle. This would happen again and again in the game until Mario finally defeats Bowser and rescues Princess Peach. I'm sure when the moment happened, Mario is actually relieved to not see another toad again saying that she is elsewhere.

Talk about always having your hopes up, only to be disappointingly let down. Maybe that is why Mario can treat Luigi like a player 2. Although it doesn't actually happen in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, I'm sure Mario must get a great deal of satisfaction when he pulls the same thing on Captain Toad here. Just look at that excitement he has when he is finally going to obtain treasure, and then look at his reaction when Mario tells him it's in another castle. It is a fine example of how mean karma can be sometimes.

11 Death Mountain Burns Up ALL Wood Right?

electricbunnycomics.deviantart.com

Death Mountain is at it's most ferocious in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild. It is a treacherous volcanic mountain range that includes many steep cliffs, live lava rocks, and very little footing for anyone traveling beyond the set trail. In addition to that, Death Mountain is so hot that if you don't have proper protection, your body will catch fire and take damage. You are also warned that Death Mountain will burn anything that is made of wood. So if you had a wooden shield or weapon equipped, it will catch fire and eventually be destroyed.

Again, anything made of wood should catch fire.

Yet another little detail that can only make sense in a video game. In Death Mountain, there are plenty of Koroks hiding about. Koroks are small little wooden creatures with leaves on them. Koroks shouldn't be able to exist in a place like that, they would burn up in just seconds, but they seem to be comfortable enough to hid under rocks. Perhaps it is the protection of the Great Deku Tree that allows this? Or maybe they have an infinite supply of fireproof elixirs. Either way, these guys are pretty brave to hide out there.
