If you're here on our website, there's a good chance you're a gamer. Whether you are a casual gamer who only plays on the weekend or if you are a dedicated gamer who maps out specific times of the day to dive into a major multiplayer match, the world of gaming is vast and both entertains and speaks volumes of the creativity the gaming industry has. Whether you like to dive into a pretty realistic football game or save the princess from an evil dinosaur, video games have something for everyone to enjoy. However, there is one thing you should know overall about video games: they are pretty illogical.

Let's be honest here people. Video games are pretty unrealistic, as they should be. No one goes into a video game in hopes of living the life they live on a daily basis. They want to explore galaxies, run away from evil creatures, or become the hero who saved the universe from extinction. While there are some games that deal with more real-life topics like war or police procedural games or even sporting events, there are several games that focus on unrealistic goals and events. One company that does this more than anyone is Nintendo.

Today we are going to look at some truly hilarious memes that showcase the failed logic of Nintendo games. For all you casual gamers out there, these memes will show you the silly and downright weird Nintendo games can get, and why we love to play them anyway.

25 Hero Or Villain?

via Pinterest

In video games, there are usually two set characters: the hero and the villain. The hero is the one who puts themselves in the line of fire and saves the day while the villain is the one creating the danger and threatening people, to begin with. It's a pretty simple formula, but sometimes the hero does something that a villain does in another game, and no one seems to notice or care. In this meme, we see Link from The Legend of Zelda having captured a fairy in a bottle, and they are called a hero and given life energy. Apparently, not all magical creatures are created equal in Nintendo Land. Why would Link be a hero if he captured an innocent fairy creature? Makes absolutely no sense.

A lot of gamers like to dive headfirst into the video games they are playing. No matter what the game is, they like to run headfirst into danger, not caring about any sort of strategy or losing their lives, as they really are not invested in moving forward in the game. Sometimes they just want to have nonsensical fun by rushing into battle. However, there are serious players who like strategy, and they prefer a stealth approach to their gaming sessions.

Some games require different levels of stealth.

This can include putting on disguises to sneak past untold danger. However, in this next meme, we see Nintendo at work again on a ridiculous concept of stealth. I hate to say it, but a man in a frog costume is not stealthy. Mario seems to think otherwise, as in this meme we see his face poking out of a frog costume, hiding from Bowser.

23 Where'd You Come From?

In this next meme, we see what happens in Nintendo games when they give the players the ability to create their own levels. With new technology, gamers have been able to customize and create their own levels in Super Mario Maker. Putting a spin on the classic franchise, they can use their gaming systems to customize the layout and enemies found on any given level. While this can be fun, it's also ridiculous when you consider the sheer amount of power you give to players when you do this. In this meme, we see Mario running through a normal level until a man-eating plant arrives, and soon an entire wall of Goomba is blocking his path, only to show Bowser using the gaming tablet to put all these dangers up. It's so unreal how few limitations there are in those types of games.

The world of gaming makes absolutely no sense when it comes to the injuries we take within the game world. I've seen some characters leap from the top of a skyscraper and land on the ground with no broken bones or injuries simply because they were wearing an old suit of armor. I've seen soldiers in war games get shot several times and still run away as if the shots bounced off of them.

It just makes no logical sense, and yet we don't question it.

In this next meme, we see the perfect example of Nintendo's inability (we know, it's the anime) to show any sort of physical consequences for physical danger. In it, we see Pikachu leap through a glass window or pane of some sort, landing in front of Ash on the ground and not having a single scratch or injury to speak of. Last time I checked, shattered glass hurts us.

21 Design Fail

via Me.me

In the vast world of gaming, large gaming franchises are the biggest business around. Legendary franchises like Super Mario Bros or The Legend of Zelda have helped make Nintendo the household name it is today. With decades worth of experience at their fingertips, you'd think the company would be experts at creating some of the most unique and inventive character designs in the industry. However, it appears that sometimes a company can go through such a massive success that they end up recycling some of their character designs. In this meme, we see two sides of Kirby. That's right, the massive pink creature known as Kirby is shown in two different states. In the first, he has eaten Mario. In the second picture, we see what happens when Kirby has been possessed by Mario. The big difference seems to be a mustache, which really doesn't make sense in an already nonsensical game.

20 Math Fail

via thegamingdrawer - DeviantArt

In this next meme, we see the logic of Nintendo's Pokémon games come to life. The world of Pokémon is vast indeed. Filled with hundreds upon hundreds of creatures, the universe focuses on trainers capturing these animals and training them for battle. It can be a very competitive game series, and when training your Pokémon creatures you get all sorts of stats. From the health and power they produce to even the weight of the creature.

Some creatures can even evolve into more powerful versions of themselves.

However, the math on the weight difference between a creature and its evolved form doesn't always add up. In this meme, we see a Magnemite weighs 13.2 lbs. However, three Magnemite's formed together (it's evolved form) seem to weigh ten times that, at 132.3 lbs. This doesn't really add up, as each one put together should add up to half of that weight at most.

19 Frenemies

via Imgflip

In the world of Nintendo, the true meaning of the word enemy seems to have disappeared. Mario, the lovable former Italian Plumber turned world traveler and hero, has spent decades fighting the evil dino-looking villain Bowser. Bowser has captured Mario's romantic interest Princess Peach several times and has threatened the world on almost every occasion. However, the intense rivalry between these two enemies seems to just disappear when it comes to sports-related games involving Mario and his video game characters. In this meme, we see the failed logic of these two characters putting their hatred for one another aside to compete in sporting events. From Mario Kart to tennis matches, there are several games that take Mario and Bowser and make them compete against one another, or even stranger still, makes them into teammates who must work together to win the match. So weird...

18 Time Check List

via Pinterest

In the world of video games, time is not quite as big of an obstacle or ridiculous notion as it would seem. In fact, several games put the theme of time into their narrative pretty casually. Yet, sometimes the logic behind time and the intricacies of the advanced years don't always make sense. In this next meme, we see this failed logic in the context of Zelda and the world the video game franchise has.

You see, time passes very differently in the world of video games.

Exploring a character through several decades within one single game is not as silly as it seems. Yet, when you see this meme and realize that the weapons of Link have rotted and failed to survive the years of gaming, and yet a flask of milk somehow stays good and drinkable, you realize the logic behind these expiration dates doesn't make sense.

17 True Danger

via Quickmeme

What constitutes a threat in the world of gaming is truly bizarre. A large canyon that leads to an underground cavern system should be something to fear. As you step near the edge of the canyon and look at the large drop from the top to the bottom, you start to realize that a fall from this height would most likely result in your demise. However, a small little hole that at most would result in a sprained ankle is considered an instant execution in the world of Nintendo. In this meme, we see that play out as we look at a classic level that sees Mario fall into a large cavern from a great height, only to land safely for the level to continue. However, falling over a small hole in the ground is clearly the most dangerous thing you can do, as it results in the elimination of Mario.

16 Who's The Boss?

via Know Your Meme

In the video game industry, bosses are the most powerful enemy you will face. After all, of the countless enemies you must fight to progress through a game, the final boss is the most powerful foe you will face. In this meme, we see Nintendo's classic boss Bowser set to fight Mario, the Nintendo company's original hero. However, the logic behind the fight between Mario and Bowser just doesn't make a lot of sense.

Logically, fighting Bowser over time should weaken him.

However, as this meme points out, fighting Bowser just gets tougher and tougher over time, making him stronger even though his overall health is declining as you battle. Why would he get stronger with his health so low? You'd think like any Rocky movie, he'd be tired out so that you could finish him off.

15 Brotherly Changes

via Imgflip

After the iconic introduction of Mario into the world of Nintendo, the company decided to expand Mario's story by introducing his brother, Luigi. The green-overall-wearing Italian plumber was a bit taller, lanky, and traveled with Mario on his adventures, eventually gaining enough popularity to warrant his own games and franchises. Yes, Luigi himself has become an icon in the world of video games, and yet in this next meme, we find his origins don't make a lot of sense.

You have to wonder, why did Luigi sound just like Mario, only with a higher voice?

Just because the two were brothers doesn't mean they would sound exactly the same. Nowadays Luigi has a different voice, but when the writers and creators sat down to try to make a successful new character stick, why not upgrade his voice actor just a little bit? It's so strange.

14 Overly Complicated

via 42Dannybob - DeviantArt

The world of Pokémon is vast and great. The creatures themselves are all divided into various categories. Whether you are looking for a fire-based creature or an electric-based creature, there are Pokémon for every need and occasion. Yet, in this meme, we see the failed logic behind waiting for a legendary Pokémon when you could just use some basic Pokémon to get the same job done.

You see, why wait for an ancient Pokémon when you already have water-based Pokémon?

In this meme, we see the main character waiting for a rare creature to emerge from a 1000 year slumber in order to help a field of crops grow, but then you start to realize that all of those water-based Pokémon you spent hours capturing and training could just as easily use their abilities to water and grow the crops you need to survive. Duh!

13 Define "Party"

via Pinterest

Everyone's idea of relaxing or partying are different. Some people like to party by having a small group of friends come over for dinner and drinks. Other people like to throw big blowout parties, with a DJ and loud music followed by drinks and dancing. Everyone is different, and yet, in the world of Nintendo, we see what happens at a typical Mario party. In the Mario Party games, we see the lovable plumber invite all his friends and even some of his foes over to hang out, only to make them fight over a lava pit of doom.

What kind of twisted game is Mario playing?

You'd think a party would be a little more low key or safe. Yet it appears Mario has no qualms with pitting his friends against one another in a battle of epic proportions. How about we start with dinner and work our way up, Mario?

12 Inappropriate Reward

via Rebrn.com

In fantasy games, odd tasks often yield some high rewards. Finding the lost jewelry of an inn keeper's wife could grant you the sword of destiny, or stealing a rare dragon egg could get you a flask of ale and three gold coins. In the video game and fantasy world, you just never know what life is going to bring you. However, there are inappropriate moments that should never be rewarded or happen to begin with, and yet, Nintendo seems not to have noticed just how weird or creepy this all is. In this next meme, we venture into Ys: Memories of Celceta, and when entering a pub you are greeted by a random child. This child engages in a tickling match with you, and your reward is a restoration of health and SP, with the child asking you to return any time to tickle some more. Excuse me, but what?

11 Upgrades Needed

via The World Of Meat Logic Wiki - Fandom

Keeping up with the updates to video game systems is sometimes a headache. No matter how cool or current the new tech is, the price tag for upgrading to the new software and hardware can be quite a lot, and besides hitting our banking accounts, the new tech is not always compatible with the games we love to play. In this next meme, we see what happens when we want to play a new game but only have an old system.

No matter how hard you try, new games won't play on old systems.

It's a sad fact of life for a gamer, but the reality is, if you want to keep up with the current gaming times and play the latest games, you have to spring for that new system. No amount of forcing a game into a console will make the two compatible in any way shape or form.

10 Water Under The Bridge

via BuzzFeed

We've all been here before. There is something we want to do that requires more than one person, and yet the people we can usually count on to join us are suddenly unavailable. Want to grab dinner at a nice restaurant that requires a solid reservation? Hold up there, your partner is busy at work and can't make it. Looking to sit down and play some Co-Op on your game? Well, all your buddies are out of town and can't play. So in our times of desperation, we often turn to the least likely people for assistance.

In this next meme, we see two enemies become fast friends.

Despite the fact that he has kidnapped and held Peach hostage, Mario seems to have no qualms or worries about inviting the despicable Bowser over to race go-carts and have an overall great time. In what world would these two enemies ever become friends?

9 Ain't I A Stinker?

via Pinterest

Most gamers out there have been in this scenario before. We are in the middle of a competitive match, racing towards the finish line. We are finally about to win, beating the other players around you and securing your first win in the match. All the pieces seem to be falling into place, until the world around you shatters and you realize that within a mere few feet of the finish line, your opponent has caused you to crash. In this meme, we see this harsh reality play out in Mario Kart 8. You see, so many times players will edge closer and closer to the finish line, but then the person behind you will throw out the power up they've been saving since lap one. A turtle shell used as a missile suddenly hits you from behind, crashing your car and forfeiting you the match.

8 Solid Ground

via Me.me

The edge of a cliff is a fearful thing, even in video games. Facing the edge means taking the life of your video game character into the hands of fate, hoping one wrong move won't send you careening over the edge and into the vast abyss below. It can be frustrating, especially in older games that have no save ability or checkpoints where you can go instead of the beginning of the level.

However, the logic behind cliff edges in video games doesn't make a lot of sense.

In this meme, we see just how much balance your character has. With only a few millimeters of ground between himself and the ground below, Mario hangs out over the edge of the cliff like there's not a single worry in the world. The physics alone don't really add up in this video game world, but oh well.

7 Can Raccoons Fly?

via Know Your Meme

Animals are often used to represent certain abilities in video games. Almost like a superpower, characters can retain a pair of wings and fly like a bird, or put on a fake fin and suddenly swim across the ocean at high speeds. It really makes no logical sense, but it's an acceptable part of the video game world. However, in this next meme, we see some of the failed logic of early Mario games when it comes to these animalistic powers.

Since when do raccoons fly?

Grabbing a feather in the classic Mario games gives you a raccoon tail and ears, and you suddenly can fly and glide across the level. The last time I saw a raccoon, they were not flying towards a pair of trash cans. They were running across the street with garbage in their hands. Maybe I missed the memo, but raccoons don't fly Nintendo!

6 When Elements Mix

via GameFAQs Super Smash Bros. Board Wiki - Fandom

Fire and water rarely mix together. Logically, it's pretty well known that water puts fires out, (most fires, don't get me started). However, the world of video games tends not to follow logic and reason. In this next meme, we see Nintendo show the logic behind their early Mario games once more, as we witness Mario swimming underground. You see, Mario undergoes a lot of changes throughout the levels of a Mario game. From flying like a raccoon apparently to growing in size and more, the video games of Mario see the ordinary plumber become quite powerful.

However, one of his powers should be useless underwater. That power is fire.

At one point, Mario can throw balls of fire from his hands at his enemies. Yet, you'd think the water he's swimming in would extinguish the fireballs instantly. Instead, they are still usable, which is just utterly ridiculous.
