The Nintendo Switch has become the first console ever to have ten different games sell more than 15 million copies. Even the DS and PlayStation 2 weren't able to achieve that despite each of them selling almost 30 million consoles more than the latest Nintendo offering has managed so far.Nintendo published its latest earnings this week for the quarter ending December 31, 2022. Revealing the Switch has now sold 122 million consoles and counting, having ten different games top 15 million sold might well be even more impressive. Simply because even the heaviest of hitters that have come before the Switch have never managed to achieve that feat.RELATED: So, Nintendo Has No Games, Eh?Topping the list are the usual suspects that continue to shift millions of copies every year for Nintendo. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on a whopping 52 million, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons selling 41.59 million copies so far. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is the only new entry in the top ten, selling more than 20 million copies in just six weeks, and Let's Go Eevee & Pikachu creeping over 15 million completes the top ten.

The PS2, which remains the best-selling console ever, only had one game, GTA San Andreas, sell more than 15 million copies. Nintendo appears to have nailed down the top three in this particular category as the next closest contenders are the DS and the Wii with six and seven games that topped 15 million sold respectively.

The Switch's numbers continue to break records every time Nintendo releases its quarterly numbers. Tricky waters for Nintendo to navigate as it's also facing growing pressure to reveal what's next. Reports that the company is skipping E3 this year because it doesn't have enough to show coming in the second half of 2023 have some wondering whether whatever will follow in the Switch's footsteps might be revealed around this time next year.
