A Kickstarter for a new, portable Nintendo Switch dock has absolutely blown up. It does everything your regular dock does but is a tenth of the size.

Nintendo loves nothing more than revolutionizing the video game industry. Some of this is done to innovate, and it has also acted out of necessity. Over the past 15 years, had Nintendo simply created and released similar alternatives to Sony and Microsoft, it probably would not have fared too well. Instead, it created the Wii and the Switch.

The Switch is designed to be used both at home and on the move, hence the name. While at home, if playing on your TV, your Switch will be sitting and charging in its dock. However, even though it is easy to play in its portable form when on the move, the dock isn't exactly designed to be taken with you. What if you want to take it all to a friend's house? Or on holiday?

It can be done, but as we said, the dock isn't designed for travel like the console is. Thankfully, Genki is about to change that. The company has created a portable dock for the Switch that does everything the regular one does but is a tenth of the size. The project's Kickstarter hit its $50,000 goal in just 40 minutes and is currently at an incredible $768,000.

Genki's Covert Dock will charge your Switch and allow you to play it on any screen. Plus, as you can see, it couldn't be easier to carry around. Just throw it in your bag and away you go. As if that wasn't good enough, the dock is also compatible with your smartphone and most laptops, so you can throw images and videos from almost any device on any screen should you buy one.

If you pledge $59 to the Kickstarter right now, you'll get one of Genki's covert docks to call your very own. Genki has impressive precedent when it comes to unofficial Switch gadgets too, hence the success of its latest Kickstarter. The company previously released an audio adapter that lets Switch players use wireless headphones with the console. Nintendo needs to hurry up and give these guys a call already.
