Nintendo has released its official ugly Christmas sweaters upon an unsuspecting geek store in the UK.
Yes, it sucks that in order to get official Nintendo ugly sweaters you have to pay for UK shipping. But the rates are fairly reasonable and you do have two-and-a-half months to get your hands on them, which should be more than enough time even if they get lost in the mail.
To get your Official Nintendo Ugly Sweaters, first head to Geek Store.com. They’re exclusive to this online retailer, which means good luck finding them anywhere else (and if you do, they’re probably illegal replicas). You have three sweaters to choose from, including Pokémon, Super Mario Bros., and Princess Peach. All of them cost £39.99, which is about 50 bucks in America.
The Pokémon sweater is probably the most Christmas-y, given its overall red and white theme. Pikachu takes center stage, although it looks to be an older version of Pikachu circa Pokémon Red & Blue as he seems to be a bit on the chunky side. Maybe he’s already gotten into the Christmas chocolates a little early?
Besides that, you’ve got the three first-gen starters, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander. All of them look far happier to be on an ugly sweater than anyone has any right to be.
Next, we have Super Mario which seems to be using art from Super Mario Bros. 2 or 3. Mario and Luigi are joined by Bowser in this blue ensemble that certainly conveys the message that you love Christmas and Nintendo in equal measure.
Finally, Princess Peach is displayed in typical pink without the supporting cast. Let's be honest, Peach don't need no man to be pretty.
All of these ugly Christmas sweaters are made from 100% knitted cotton in a unisex design. Geek Store supplies them in most sizes, from 2XS all the way to 4XL, but expect the middle sizes to disappear quickly. Then again, these sweaters are best worn large, so maybe that 4XL will go faster than most.
