In the upcoming beta for Koei Tecmo's Nioh 2, players will have a chance to see their custom characters wind up as presets in the final game. Starting this Friday, November 1, a new beta for PS4 will be available for download. Containing a small sampling of an early-game area, a contest will be held to determine some character pre-sets for when the game launches early next year.

Developer Team Ninja will be judging the contest by looking at all entries submitted via Twitter. Three male and female designs will see their way into the final game and the winners will have their names added to Nioh 2's credits. While not an illustrious prize, being immortalized in a game is a pretty big deal for some.

To enter, one will obviously need to download the Nioh 2 beta from the PlayStation store. From there, Team Ninja urges users to link their Twitter accounts to the PS4 so they can Tweet directly from the PS4 dashboard. In the Nioh 2 beta, an option will be available at the character customization screen that allows one to create a unique code for their character.

After creating the code, the beta will automatically ask if players would like to share their creations. Upon selecting "SHARE," a screenshot will be taken and users will be prompted to Tweet out their character to the world. Including the "#Nioh2b_contest" hashtag will enter you for their chance at gaming fame. All submissions to the contest must be made by November 10, 2019. Winners will be announced from the official Nioh 2 Twitter account and website sometime after the contest ends.

With no confirmed release date, this will likely be the last chance anyone gets to try Nioh 2 in 2019. Team Ninja looks to be making solid progress and a recent batch of screenshots show a lot of promise. The original was a really good take on the Souls formula that sprinkled in a touch of Japanese history to diversify its story. The move away from a concrete character might lead to a detached story, but we'll just have to wait and see.
