Less than 24 hours into the launch of Nintendo Switch Online's Expansion Pack, and a lot of subscribers are less than impressed with their experience so far.

A month after Nintendo revealed it would be adding Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games to NSO via its Expansion Pack and the day has finally arrived. The Expansion Pack and its new libraries have been live for a number of hours at this point, opening up tens of new games across two classic consoles to anyone willing to pay the extra for them.

Since the annual price of NSO more than doubles when you add the Expansion Pack, those who have taken the plunge will have been expecting a pretty smooth experience right off the bat. A number of reports have revealed that is far from what many have been getting early on. Users have been reporting issues with button mapping, audio delay, and a lack of support for the N64's Controller Pak.

The button mapping appears to be the issue getting the most attention. Unless you have shelled out for Nintendo's new Switch-compatible N64 controller, you will have been using a Joy-Con to play N64 games. If that's the case, you will have discovered the N64's C-buttons have been mapped to the right analog stick, the Z button is the Switch's ZL trigger, and the B and A buttons are B and A on the Switch. That last one might sound reasonable, but B and A are in different positions on the Switch than they were on the N64.

Audio delay is another issue being widely reported. That being the actions on screen don't line up with the game's sounds. There also appears to be an issue with the Switch's ability to render fog in N64 games. This is most notable in Ocarina of Time, as you can see above. In fact, the image used for comparison makes the Switch version look worse than the one released on the Wii U.

Other issues doing the rounds on social media include lag and a lack of stability when playing online. However, some of those issues have been challenged by others and appear to have more to do with users' connections rather than problems with the Expansion Pack.
