Fortnite has basically become a hub where all of the biggest IPs in entertainment gather and eliminate each other over and over again in the name of earning a coveted Victory Royale. Although Star Wars has been a part of that for three years, it has been thrust back into the Fortnite spotlight this month via lightsaber introductions and Obi-Wan Kenobi teases. Even though the lightsabers have gone, that Obi-Wan tease is about to become a reality.

With a week to go until the first two episodes of the series of the same name drop on Disney+, Epic has revealed Obi-Wan Kenobi will indeed be added to The Loop. An Obi-Wan skin, which bears an incredible likeness to Ewan McGregor's character, will be available via the in-game store from May 26, 2022. So the day before the series begins giving you one less day to wait to get your Obi-Wan fix. You will also have the chance to win the skin four days early via the Obi-Wan Kenobi Cup.

The Jedi won't be coming to Fortnite alone, of course. Obi-Wan will bring a number of unique items along with him including a Jedi Interceptor glider, and a blade as a pickaxe. Yes, that does mean Obi-Wan will not be bringing lightsabers back to the game right after they were once again removed. That actually makes a lot of sense as McGregor is reduced to using a blaster rifle in the latest trailer for the show implying he no longer has his iconic weapon.

Obi-Wan will join an array of other Star Wars characters from across the galaxy, some of which the character will have never actually interacted with on the big screen. Rey and The Mandalorian, for starters. You will soon be able to act out what it might have looked like in the movies had he ever clashed with those characters, as well as run around the island eliminating the likes of Deadpool and Predator between episodes of the show dropping every Friday.

There is understandably a lot of hype surrounding Obi-Wan, making this a big get for Fortnite. The show will pick up ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith as Darth Vader leads an effort to rid the galaxy of all Jedi. The latest trailer for the show closed out with Vader being assembled, hinting that he and Obi-Wan will once again come face-to-face. Vader will be played by Hayden Christiensen who portrayed Anakin in Episodes 2 and 3, at the end of which he was defeated by Obi-Wan and began his transition into the Darth Vader we know and reluctantly love.
