We don’t want to get your hopes up too high, Nintendo Switch fans, but it certainly sounds as though Oceanhorn 2 just might be making its way to the hybrid handheld.

Not very long ago, the mere idea of a Nintendo system receiving ports of the likes of Doom, Borderlands, Overwatch and such may have seemed downright silly. The poor old Wii U was given slim to nothing in the way of third-party support, which was one of the major factors that doomed the kooky console in the first place.

With the Switch, the situation is completely different. Heavy hitters such as The Witcher 3 and Skyrim have also found homes on the console. Of course, these are the furthest thing from new titles, but the fact that these ports are being clamored for shows how Nintendo’s fortunes have turned around.

It’s a bit of an embarrassment of riches for Nintendo fans, who are left wondering which ports they’re going to see next. According to Pocket Gamer, the answer to that question just might be Oceanhorn 2.

This super impressive adventure game is one of the highlights of Apple Arcade, so those who don’t use the service have been eyeing it jealously. Where does the possibility of a Switch port come from, then? From this tantalizing yet obscure tweet made by the developers:

Simply knowing that a surprise is planned is enough to send the community into waves of speculation and excitement, but there’s one very specific detail here: our heroes supposedly taking a flight to Kyoto.

Can you think of any gaming giants headquartered in Kyoto? That’s right, Nintendo. While this may seem like a heck of a reach, it’s important to note that Helsinki is the home of the game’s creators, Cornfox & Bros., so there’s certainly a precedent there.

Will Oceanhorn 2 find its way to Switch and other systems? Is this simply a reference to another expansion? We won’t know for sure until August 11. Let’s hope so, though, because a title of this caliber deserves to be enjoyed by as many gamers as possible.
