Octopath Traveler 2 has made getting objects off of NPCs easier than ever. This task is easily accomplished through the daytime abilities of Partitio's legal Purchase ability and Throne's Steal action. At night, you can use Agnea's Entreat to get NPCs to hand over their valuables and Osvald's Mug to forcefully take items from NPCs.

If you're trying to steal and your reputation drops after five failed attempts, you could go pay off your tab with the barkeep at the town's tavern. But, if you're going to pull a risky move, save and reload until you succeed. Soon the entirety of Solistia will be your oyster.

10 Heavy Coin Pouch

Octopath Traveler 2 Dramatist in the Merry Hills Inn

The Heavy Coin Pouch can net you one of the highest profits of all the "for profit" items in the game. If you're running short on funds, all you have to do is hunt one down, snag it, and be on your way.

In that right, however, this is an item that you absolutely should not use Partitio's Purchase on. You'll likely end up losing more money than you make if you try it.

Although many aristocrats carry them, if you can't find one, check out the Dramatist in Merry Hills. Agnea only needs to be level 3 to Entreat it, which is much easier than trying to Mug him with Osvald.

9 Every Nut (L)

Octopath Traveler 2 Elderly Man in Timberain

Nuts are one of the easiest ways to boost stats in Octopath Traveler 2 without having to grind to level up. They can be plucked or purchased off of every other NPC, it would seem.

However, the ones you should be angling for are the ones marked (L). These will give you the biggest boosts. You can find a Magical Nut (L) on a Poet in the Merry Hills, which can be picked up day or night.

An Invigorating Nut (L) can be picked up off a Boy in Timberain during the day. The Critical Nut (L) is found on an Elderly Man in Timberain, also during the day. Alpione carries the last one, a Tough Nut (L).

If you haven't finished her Next Chapter, you can pick it off of her day or night in Gravell. If you have finished her Next Chapter, you'll need to meet her at night at Toto'haha's port beach.

8 Olive of Life (L)

Octopath Traveler 2 Actor in Merry Hills Tavern

The regular Olive of Life and the Olive of Life (M) eventually aren't worth it In the late game. It's a waste of turns to revive a character and immediately have to heal them.

Olive of Life (L) cuts that down to one turn. They can be found all over, but if you need to restock now, consider finding the Actor in the Merry Hills.

He can be found at all hours. Partitio can buy the Olive of Life (L) for 19,000 Leaves. Agnea can Entreat it at level 40. Of course, the easiest route is mugging him with Osvald, as the Actor has a strength of 1/10.

7 Octopuff Pot

Octopath Traveler 2 Fisherman in Conning Creek

EXP grinding is a bore and takes an absurdly long time if you don't have your wits in order. Instead of running around in circles, equipping Octopuff Pots can increase your chance of running into these rare monsters.

Fortunately, you can fight them soon by stopping in Conning Creek. Here you can find a Fisherman just before the exit to the harbor during the day and in his house at night.

Partitio can buy his Octopuff Pot for 19,000 Leaves. At level 30, Agnea can Entreat it, or Osvald can Mug him as he only has a 5/10 strength.

6 Empowering Necklace

Octopath Traveler 2 Timberain Soldier in the Day

Osvald has no health if you don't buff him, secondary jobs aside. As such, it's important to find items like the Empowering Necklace for him, which grants +1000 HP upon equipping. You can pick up the Empowering Necklace from a Soldier in Timberain.

He can be found in front of the Inn at night and on the opposite side of town during the day. Agnea needs to be level 50 to Entreat it. Partitio can take the easy route and buy it, however, for 19,000 Leaves.

5 Platinum Gear

Octopath Traveler 2 Young Man in the Merry Hills

If you're looking for strong defense or a strong weapon, consider the Platinum Helm, Platinum Shield, or Platinum Hatchet. Each one gives you ridiculously high bonuses, which makes them great late-game items.

You just need to hunt them down. The Platinum Helm can be snagged off a Young Man in the Merry Hills during the daytime or purchased for 11,400 Leaves.

The Platinum Shield can be taken from a Sanctum Knight in Stormhail at any hour or bought for 15,200 Leaves. Lastly, the Platinum Hatchet can be snagged off a Soldier in Timberain during both day and night.

4 Blessed Vestments

Octopath Traveler 2 Timberain Judge

Best-equipped on the glass canon traveler, Osvald, the Blessed Vestments give +130 to physical defense, +215 to elemental defense, and raise your elemental attack by +74.

These Vestments can be snagged off of the Judge in Timberain, though you will need to complete all the quest lines related to Meylan first.

The biggest issue with getting them is that they're a bit of a pain and require you to get lucky with Throne's steal or cough up 27,550 leaves through Partitio. Unfortunately, the Judge is only available during the daytime

3 Battle-Tested Gear

Octopath Traveler 2 Veronica and Dulcinea in the New Delsta Theater

The Battle-Tested Gear are undoubtedly some of the strongest weapons in the entirety of Solistia. Taking the time to hunt them down not only nets you some powerful weapons, but you also get an achievement for it.

These items are scattered throughout the world and require some stories to be finished before you can even hope to get your hands on them.

For the most part, you'll be finding weapons except for the Battle-Tested Shield. This item can be snagged from Veronica in New Delsta, either before or after you finish her Next Chapter quest.

2 Hero's Axe

Octopath Traveler 2 Timberain Soldier At Night

The Hero's Axe is a powerful endgame weapon for any axe wielder, like Cassti. It can be snagged off a Soldier in Timberain - the same one as the Empowering Necklace. He's found in front of the inn at night and on the opposite side of town during the day.

Agnea can entreat it when she reaches level 40, or Osvald can fight against an 8/10 strength for it. Alternatively, if you want to take a less morally dubious route, purchasing it from the Soldier will cost 61,750 Leaves.

1 King of Beasts

Octopath Traveler 2 Mayor of the Nameless Village

King of Beasts is one of the strongest bows in the game, offering +282 to physical attack and +90 to your evasion. If you want it, you're going to have to get it from the Mayor of the Nameless Village. It can be bought by Partitio for 50,350 Leaves.

If money isn't your forte, consider entreating it with Agnea at level 67, fighting the 7/10 strength mayor with Osvald, or just trying your luck with Throne's steal. Remember, you can always save before you try and reload after every five failures.
