The first-ever Oculus Gaming Showcase is scheduled to take place on April 21 at 3pm PT. During the event, you'll get a sneak peek at several upcoming games on the Oculus platform, including more news about Pistol Whip, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, and Lone Echo 2.

Unfortunately, that's about everything we know so far. Cloudhead Games, Ready At Dawn, and ILMxLAB are the only developers confirmed as attending, although we're sure more will be announced in the coming days.

"This is our first event wholly dedicated to the stellar games across the Oculus Platform," reads the announcement. "You can expect new updates to fan-favorite titles, never-before-seen footage from some unreleased games, and a few surprises in store."

With the Oculus Quest 2 launching late last year, now would be a great time to announce a few blockbuster titles. There's no doubt VR gaming is more mainstream now than ever before, but unless the community has a constant flow of games to keep them busy, VR likely won't remain a popular form of gaming. Folks who picked up a Quest 2 last year have probably worked through the majority of content on the market, and a few big namedrops during the Oculus Gaming Showcase would do much to reinvigorate the fanbase.

It'll also be curious to see what content is coming to platforms beyond Oculus Quest – or if any new hardware will be announced. There's also the possibility we'll see a price adjustment for current products, so it might be wise to hold off on a VR purchase until after the showcase.

Thankfully, we don't have to wait long to learn more. The Oculus Gaming Showcase is set to kick off on April 21 at 3pm PT. You can find the event on many of Oculus' social platforms, including Twitch, Facebook, and YouTube.

Until then, you can bide your time with Traffic Jams – a strange traffic-safety game released April 8 – or the story-driven Flow Weaver.
