One of the new gameplay elements in Oddworld Soulstorm is crafting. Crafting is not necessarily an essential gameplay element in Oddworld Soulstorm, but it can enhance your experience significantly should you choose to invest a little bit of time into it. Doing so will be worth it and make Abe much more capable in combat.
There are eleven items Abe can craft and are unlocked as you progress through the game. After beating the whole game, you can replay levels using any crafting recipes. With crafting, the world is your oyster. Just make sure to look through trash bins, search lockers, and break some crates to find some ingredients.
How To Craft
To open the crafting menu, quickly tap the crafting button. This button is the top face button on your controller (Triangle or Y Button) or the Q key on your keyboard. If you hold the crafting button, you can select items to equip, but tapping it will open the crafting menu.
To craft an item, you need to make sure you have enough crafting materials to make it. If you have enough ingredients to make an item, you need to select that item to craft it. If you do not have enough materials, you will need to search for them around the map. You can find materials in trash bins, lockers, and crates. You can also purchase some ingredients and even items themselves at vending machines.
Vending Machines first appear in level 6 and sell rarer crafting materials. Some of these vending machines will require Moula, the in-game currency that you collect. Vending Machines also have limited inventory, unless it's for a material necessary for completing the level.
How To Unlock More Crafting Recipes
You can unlock more crafting recipes by progressing through the game. As you progress through the game, more and more crafting recipes will become available to Abe. After you roll credits, you will have every crafting recipe in the game. Now, if you want to replay a level, you will have every crafting recipe in your arsenal. These recipes can change how you play through certain stages and help you raise your Quarma score.
