Old School Runescape players across the globe are preparing for the return of the Deadman Mode Tournament that starts this Friday. The tournament will be a month-long as a part of Jagex's contribution to the #PlayApartTogether movement, where they will be donating proceeds to several charities.

The idea of Deadman Mode is that players will start completely from scratch and have to advance and level up as quickly as possible. If you are a fan of Old School Runescape, you know that this is no easy task. Deadman Mode is run on a Player versus Player server where you lose progress with death. As a result, this becomes extremely competitive and tension runs high.

For information in the game, players can speak with Nigel in Lumbridge. Every player begins at combat level three, and experience gained in Deadman Mode is five times the normal amount and you can win a variety of prizes! Progress in any other Runescape game, including Old School, will not be affected. Upon killing a player, you will receive Blood Money which can be used to purchase Deadman Mode armor.

The top 2,000 players of Deadman Mode tournament will compete in a live finale on May 30th. These players will be whittled down to around 250 contestants, and the game will play on until there are a final two. From there, it will be one versus one to claim the winner of Deadman Mode. As you can imagine, Deadman Mode is highly anticipated by the Old School Runescape community, and it grows very competitive very quickly.

Jagex is planning on donating $25,000 to its partner charities in alignment with the Deadman Mode tournament. These charities include: CPSL Mind, The Prince’s Trust, and Rise Above The Disorder. Similarly, winners will get several different kinds of prizes at the end of the tournament.
