OPSEAT is probably one of the best known names in gaming chairs. Based in South Florida, OPSEAT is the official chair for a ton of different pro gaming organizations including NRG, SF Shock, Clemson Esports, and Philadelphia Fusion. So what makes the chairs from OPSEAT such a popular choice for gamers? Well, as it turns out, a whole lot.

Built Crazy Tough

Right out of the box its obvious the OPSEAT Grandmaster isn't made like your typical office chair, though it goes together just as simply: put the casters on the base, then the hydraulic lift, attach the back to the seat, then put it all together. The difference, though, can be felt in each part as you assemble it. The multi-tilt mechanism and gas lift are heavy duty, and have been tested for strength, durability, and functionality in 20 different ways. My old office chair adopted a pretty grating squeak after a couple months of deep leaning on it and there's pretty much no chance the Grandmaster will suffer the same fate.

The PU leather-covered seat and back are cool to the touch, extremely durable, and look super clean. I received the orange and black model and was incredibly impressed that it isn't just the orange accents on the back rest and seat: even the stitching on the back and seat are orange and the hard plastic guards on the base are too. OPSEAT has 11 color varieties available for the Grandmaster (as well as the slightly narrower Master) and each has the same level of detail, making this one of the sleekest looking chairs you can find.

Like Sitting On A Dang Cloud

OPSEAT isn't the first gaming chair I've parked my buns on, but that didn't stop me from having a WOW moment upon first sitting down. The memory foam back support and head rest gave me perfect posture without any adjustment. The back is a bit higher even than other gaming chairs I've tried, which is great for us tall folk. It also reclines further than any other chair I've tried. In fact, it reclines so far back I was getting worried about tipping over. I'd recommend locking the tilt if you're going to go into a full recline. This thing reclines so far back it may even double as one of those beds that hangs you upside down. My partner said it stretched her back out and felt great. Not an advertised feature, but also not something I've seen other chairs do.

It's softer than other gaming chairs I've tried, too. I've learned to love the relative firmness of gaming chairs compared to the average office chair because that firmness is what allows me to game for extended sessions without getting sore, but the Grandmaster was perfectly comfortable all week long even though it was a little extra soft. Definitely not complaining.

It's so easy to find that perfect position with this chair. The arms rests not only raise up and down, they also slide side to side, forward and back, and twist in an out so you can find the absolute perfect height and angle. When I'm writing I like to raise them all the way and twist them both in towards my keyboard, and when I game I'll rotate them a different way. If I switch to controller I lower them all the way down and slide them back to keep my arms close to my center. It's a really great feature that makes a surprisingly huge difference.

While the memory foam back support is serviceable (I used a similar product with my regular old office chair) I wish the OPSEAT had an internal back support adjust to find that perfect spot. I wouldn't want to take it off, but the memory foam is a little too soft and I'm afraid I'm just flattening it anyway.

Unrivaled Value

The OPSEAT Grandmaster and Master are both unbelievably good values. They ship quickly and for free from within the U.S. and come with the a back support and head rest pillow included for much less than many of their competitors and honestly, its hard to find many compromises at all. It doesn't have an adjustable back support, which most people probably won't really mind, and the adjustment handles under the chair don't seem to fit snuggly on my chair; they're a little wobbly like they might slide off, though, they haven't.

The OPSEAT is beautifully designed and manufactured, it isn't overly gamer-y (my partner really likes the pink one) and they're incredibly comfortable even for long sessions. I love being able to raise the seat upright for productivity and then later recline it way back when I'm relaxing with some Gargoyles on Disney+. You're not going to get any esports team branding or logos on these chairs if that's your thing, but what you are getting is really a complete package for a pretty unbeatable price. There's a lot of dumb-cheap "gamer chairs" on Amazon these days, but OPSEAT is the real deal for a surprisingly reasonable price. I would be ecstatic to get one as a gift, and I'll be enjoying the Grandmaster for a long time to come.
