Dead Space's original creator, Glen Schofield, has Tweeted that he is "excited" to see the recently announced remake.

Following the reveal of a Dead Space remake at EA Play, Glen Schofield took to Twitter to react to the game. Schofield is considered one of the lead developers behind Dead Space, so fans were hoping to see a positive reaction from him considering what happened to Visceral Games.

Glen said, "Directing the original Dead Space was one of the highlights of my career. Excited to see what the EA Motive Studio team does with it". Although the message is short, it's clear that Glen has no ill-will towards his game being remade, and has positive memories of previously working on it.

Another Twitter user also pointed out that a scene in the trailer references Schofield, as a part of the schematics on the wall say "Schofield Tools", which is a reference that has been made in several Dead Space titles.

EA Motive replied to the Tweet saying, "You paved the way for us, Glen. Looking forward to the Callisto Protocol as well". EA Motive is referring to The Callisto Protocol, a game being developed by Schofield and Striking Distance that's set in the PUBG universe. That project has ex-Visceral Games talent working on it and wears its Dead Space influence pretty clearly on its sleeve.

Fans have been curious to see the opinion of old Visceral Games workers on the topic of a Dead Space remake, as the studio was shut down following Dead Space 3, and some fans think it's disrespectful to the original team to remake their work and show it off as EA listening to fans.

Glen wasn't the only member of Visceral Games to react to the trailer. Franchise director Steve Papoutsis said, "Congrats to the team at EA Motive Studio on their Dead Space announcement. I hope you have as much fun working on this title as I did, and look forward to playing it at launch."
