One of the most highly-anticipated games of October will be available on Xbox Game Pass for PC later this month, as The Outer Worlds is being added to this service this month.
The Outer Worlds is an upcoming first-person RPG in the vein of the modern Fallout games. The game is set in a reality in which megacorporations are responsible for colonizing and branding different worlds. The player takes on the role of a person who was sent to live on a colony, yet is stranded at the edge of the galaxy while the rest of the passengers are still in cryogenic sleep. It's up to the player to explore the nearby colonies and learn the truth about what the corporations are up to.
The Outer Worlds is receiving a multiplatform release, yet PC gamers can avoid paying full price by subscribing to Xbox Game Pass for PC. Xbox Wire has announced that The Outer Worlds is being added to Xbox Game Pass for PC this month. The exact date it's being added has yet to be revealed, but it will likely be around October 25, which is when the game is released on other platforms. The current price for a single month's subscription to Xbox Game Pass for PC is$4.99/£3.99 (or a single dollar or pound for the first month), which is an incredible deal for those who are looking to play The Outer Worlds on PC.
The reason why the Xbox Game Pass for PC is receiving such amazing support is due to the fact that The Outer Worlds was developed by Obsidian Entertainment. Microsoft purchased Obsidian Entertainment in 2018 as part of the company's strategy of acquiring lots of studios in preparation for its upcoming exclusives war with Nintendo and Sony during the next console generation. The Outer Worlds is coming to several different platforms at launch, but it's speculated that any future sequels would be exclusive to Microsoft platforms.
The Outer Worlds will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 25, 2019. A Nintendo Switch port of The Outer Worlds will be released at a later date.
