In Outriders, the max level for your character is 30. However, you can keep getting better gear by increasing World and Challenge Tiers, which make the enemies you fight more difficult. This gives you the opportunity to push your character's stats even higher, despite not being able to earn more Class Points after the level cap.

Although your character can only reach level 30, enemies can go as high as level 50. They can be extremely challenging to fight, but the rewards are extremely powerful. Here's everything you need to know to get level 50 gear in Outriders.

Updated August 1st, 2021, by Charles Burgar: With legendary drop rates getting doubled in a recent patch, many players are delving into Outrider's endgame once more to obtain level 50 gear. We've updated this guide to include more information on obtaining level 50 gear, how to bypass the CT15 farm through crafting, and give some new Expedition farming recommendations.

How To Find Level 50 Gear

Two Outriders In Battle

To earn and equip level 50 gear, you'll need to have unlocked Tier 15 Expeditions—Outrider's endgame activity. Before you delve into Expeditions, it's important that you understand a few things first:

  1. What World Tiers are
    1. This will make Expeditions much easier since you'll be overgeared.
  2. What Expeditions are
  3. What Challenge Tiers are, and how they differ from World Tiers

What Are World Tiers

World Tiers are difficulty levels that you unlock as you play through the Outriders campaign. You will start on World Tier 1, but quickly start progressing through the ranks. On World Tier 1, enemies are two levels below your character. Every World Tier pushes enemy and gear level up by one level. World Tier 15 raises enemy AND gear levels by 12 from your level.

This means that to fight the hardest enemies and find the best gear, you must also be at max level. When you reach level 30, enemies and gear will be level 42 on World Tier 15. That isn't quite at level 50, but this will make Expeditions much easier to break into.

What Are Expeditions

Expeditions are extremely challenging endgame missions that you unlock after completing the main story. These are separate from, and thus completely unaffected by, World Tiers. Farming for World Tiers isn't a waste of time, however, as starting Expeditions with level 42 gear allows you to reach a higher Challenge Tier much more quickly.

What Are Challenge Tiers

Challenge Tiers are another difficulty progression system Just like World Tiers, Challenge Tiers influence the level of enemies and gear you'll find in Expeditions. The higher the Challenge Tier, the better the loot you'll find. Challenge Tier 1 will pit you against level 31 enemies, offering level 31 loot if you win. Challenge Tier 15 enemies are level 50 and drop level 50 gear, and unlocking this tier also allows you to equip and craft level 50 gear. We'll talk about crafting in a moment. Let's go over how you reach Challenge Tier 15 (CT15, for short) first.

Reaching Challenge Tier 15

Just like World Tiers, you'll need to complete every previous Challenge Tier to reach Challenge Tier 15. You'll have the first three Challenge Tiers unlocked automatically, with further tiers unlocking as you clear Expeditions with a certain time. In general, you'll need to clear Expeditions with a Gold rating to unlock the next Challenge Tier. Bypassing The Grind With Crafting

Not only does raising your Challenge Tier increase the level of gear that drops, but it also increases the level cap of gear you can craft. You can improve the level of gear in Outriders through the crafting system. Your gear's level cap is determined by the highest Challenge Tier you've cleared. For example, if you've unlocked CT14, you're able to upgrade all items to level 49, even if that item didn't originate from a CT14 mission.

This means that you can actually obtain level 50 gear without having to farm CT15 Expeditions. So long as you've unlocked Challenge Tier 15, you can craft level 50 items.

Crafting Level 50 Gear

Crafting in Outriders gets much more expensive as you increase an item's rarity and level, which might make this strategy seem impractical. However, there's one workaround you can use to craft level 50 gear on the cheap: rares.

Rare items only require Leather or Scrap to level; they don't need Drop Pod Resources like epics and legendaries. If you need a loadout to farm CT15 Expeditions, farm the Challenge Tier that you can clear the fastest. Keep an eye out for rares with perfect attributes and a good mod. Upgrade these rares to epic quality, then choose the best mod out of the three you're given. Replace any mod you don't like, and you're ready to farm CT15s.

This strategy won't allow you to craft level 50 legendaries, but this will allow you to get a loadout that can take you through CT14 and 15 content, which will then allow you to farm for level 50 legendaries that suit your build.
