After officially joining the Blue Chamber Collective in Outward, you will be tasked with a variety of quests. The first quest that you can complete is Mixed Legacies, starting in the city of Berg. During Mixed Legacies, you will need to rescue a few officials who were kidnapped from a council meeting. If you need help with this quest, we are here to help you.

In this guide, we are going to go over a complete walkthrough for the Mixed Legacies quest. This will include how to successfully go through every step, as well as what the rewards are. First, let's take a look at the requirements you need to complete before starting Mixed Legacies.

Prerequisites To Accept Mixed Legacies

Prior to beginning Mixed Legacies, you just need to join the Blue Chamber Collective. This faction is located in Berg, within the Enmerkar Forest, and is pretty simple to get to from Cierzo.

Once you officially join the faction, Rissa Aberdeen will give you the Mixes Legacies quest. If she doesn't give the quest, you will need to wait three days and speak with her again.

Attending A Council Meeting

The first step of this quest is to head to the Blue Chamber building and attend a council meeting. This is a large building in the center of Berg and is very noticeable on the map.

Before entering the building, speak with Roland Argenson near the entrance. This is will affect a future Blue Chamber Collective quest.

Once you make it inside, you can walk around and speak with any NPCs who are not part of the Blue Chamber Collective. After they have all been spoken to, return to Rissa and choose the second dialogue option, which can be seen below.

  • "Yes. There's a lot of unhappy people here who might spark a firestorm."

With option two picked, Rissa will suggest going to the Inn. From here, turn and leave the room.

Defending Berg

As you are walking away from the building, an explosion will occur and hostile bandits will appear. At this point, you have two options.

  • Option 1:
    • Head back into the building and help with the fight.
  • Option 2:
    • Wait a few minutes for the fight to end.

Once the bandits have been dealt with, speak with Gabriella Sullivan. She will tell you that Rissa and Balthazar have been taken into the Necropolis, and you need to rescue them.

The Necropolis

The Necropolis' entrance is located just near where Gabriella Sullivan and Sagard Battleborn will be standing. You can head down the staircase through the entrance, where you will find bandits that need to be defeated.

Once the bandits are taken care of, use the ladder in the room to enter Ancestor's Resting Place. Here, you will find more bandits that can be stealth attacked. After dealing with them (or sneaking by), head through the metal door and continue on the path, defeating any enemies that stand in your way.

At the end of this path, you can drop down into a watery area filled with a few enemies. In this area, you can find a note next to Balthazar, who ultimately ends up dying.

After reading the note, head east until you make it to a room with a captain enemy. This enemy is strong, but only uses melee attacks, so you can keep your distance and shoot him from afar.

Once dead, go up the staircase and proceed forward until you come to a wooden door that leads into the Enmerkar Forest.

This door will lead you to an area slightly northwest of Berg.

Traveling To The Burnt Outpost

Now, your task is to head to the Burnt Outpost, which can be found south of the Huge Burning Tree, on the southern edge of the forest. This is a long journey, so be sure to bring plenty of food and water, as well as a bedroll.

Once you make it to the Burnt Outpost, you will need to head inside, where you can find cells that hold Rissa and Kirouac. Defeat all bandits in the room, and then you can speak with Rissa to free her.

By speaking to Kirouac, you can free him as well; as a reward, he will give you 100 silver.

Killing The Mercenary Captain

You will also have the option to kill the Mercenary Captain. This enemy will appear at the location marked on the map above.

The Mercenary Captain is strong, but you can safely keep your distance while attacking him with ranged weapons. Don't stray too far from the Captain though; there are several enemies that can appear on the path nearby.

You will have seven days to complete this optional task. If it takes you more than seven days to get here, the Mercenary Captain will disappear and you will not be able to defeat him.

Finishing Mixed Legacies

After completing the steps above, you can head back to Berg and speak with Rissa Aberdeen. If you have not defeated the Mercenary Captain and he is still present, you can either end the conversation with Rissa and go find him, or tell her that you want to give up the search.

As a reward for completing this quest, you will receive the following items.

  • 3x Bouillon du Predateur
  • 2x Life Potion
  • 1x Gold Ingot
