Two minutes of gameplay footage of Hideo Kojima's Overdose has leaked online, matching the descriptions that we had of it earlier in the year and giving us our first look at the project.

Just yesterday, Insider Gaming reported that screenshots of Hideo Kojima's next game, Overdose, had started appearing online in glorious potato quality. They weren't much to go off of, but they confirmed the game to be real and implied that the original leaked trailer from this Summer had started being shared around. Now, less than a full day after those screenshots leaked out, eXputer has managed to get a video of the leaked footage.

The footage, which is being recorded by someone who didn't think to move their head so that we can't see their face throughout the whole video, shows Margaret Qualley's character walking around an abandoned house. As she does, we can see a screen in the bottom left showing the reactions of whoever is playing, which hints that the game is being played with a phone via cloud streaming.

As the footage continues, we see Margaret Qualley's character run into enemies that appear to be supernatural, with red symbols flashing at certain moments. This could imply some kind of point-and-click element, possibly asking the player to act when things pop up. The end of the clip then shows her running away from something behind her, before zooming in on her face and showing her getting jump-scared. The words "Game Over" then appear with the same red symbol that's shown throughout the trailer, before showing "A Hideo Kojima game" and the title, "Overdose".

If this sounds familiar, that's because the trailer matches the descriptions that we've been getting since this Summer. It appears that the trailer has now been shared around a fair bit more, as this footage appears to have been screen recorded quite a few times as there are quite a lot of notifications and phone overlays on the screen at once, as well as a YouTube bar at the bottom.

Although the quality might not be the best, for anyone who's been keeping an eye on the Overdose leaks, it's nice to finally see the footage outside of text descriptions of it. The trailer resurfacing so close to The Game Awards might also mean that we're due for an official look sometime soon.
