Brigitte is in a pretty rough place in Overwatch 2. After more or less destroying the first game by being too much of a must-pick, her nerfs in the sequel have made it hard to justify playing her, as there's always a better option for both healing and dealing damage. Understandably, this has Brig mains missing the old days.

Now, in a discussion on how Blizzard can make Brigitte more viable, a bunch of players say that she should get her stun ability back. This would make it possible to stop enemies in their tracks using Brig's shield bash, interrupting attacks and helping their DPS teammates get some kills in. However, with most stun abilities removed in Overwatch, it would also make her the only character able to do this outside of an ultimate.

"Give her stun back," says Reddit user Middle_Oven_1568, speaking in a thread about how Brigitte can be improved. "She gets dunked on so hard now it's not even funny."

Elden_FunionRing agrees in the replies: "Honestly, her stun wasn't even that bad to begin with. I understand why they removed the vast majority of stuns, but I feel that removing hers was a bit uncalled for."

Others argue that it's unfair that Support characters have one less form of crowd control, making them particularly vulnerable - especially with one less Tank in the team to defend them. On top of this, user adorpheus argues that returning Brig's stun wouldn't be as OP as it was in the first Overwatch, as it could be countered with Kiriko's Suzo.

However, given that Brig tore the first Overwatch's meta in half, Blizzard will likely be apprehensive about buffing her too soon - especially with a change that resembles her old kit. In the meantime, it remains to be seen if she gets buffed in any other areas, such as her healing output or survivability.

In truth, Brig is just one of the characters that are struggling to find a place in Overwatch's new 5v5 gameplay. Even heroes specifically made for the sequel - namely Junker Queen - aren't the most optimal picks for competitive play. She is at least set to get some buffs next month, with Blizzard teasing a particularly "spicy" change to her playstyle in a mid-season patch.

Around the same time, we're told to expect a "soft rework" of sorts for Roadhog, as the devs believe he is not currently the best pick for 5v5. It's not clear what changes we'll get in aid of this, but many believe that his heal ability may be able to be shared after his next patch, encouraging 'Hog mains to stick with their team rather than run off and do their own thing. Sorry, he just can't get away with being a third DPS anymore.
