Calling Overwatch 2 a grind-fest is probably putting it lightly. Whether it be taking dozens of hours to unlock a single character or general complaints about the game's Battle Pass, it's not unfair to say that Overwatch 2 has become much more grindy ever since the series switched to the free-to-play model. This definitely isn't helped by the game's weekly and daily challenges, which were recently criticized by fans for being incredibly inconsistent, with some very easy and others almost impossible.

One of the more egregious examples of this was the weekly challenge called Cleaning House, which tasked players with getting 20 team kills in just seven days. Asking a player to wipe out an entire enemy team by themselves 20 times in just a week is about as difficult as it sounds, leading many to criticize Blizzard as weekly challenges are pretty much the only way to earn coins to unlock rewards and cosmetics.

Thankfully, it seems that this challenge was too much of a grind for even Blizzard, as it looks to have quiety reduced the amount of team kills required from 20 to 10. Considering the total has been slashied in half, it's obvious that Blizzard realised asking players to achieve the impossible for a handful of coins probably wasn't in its best interests.

Overwatch 2 Cleaning house Challenege

In other Overwatch-related news, players continue to root out pesky bugs that have plagued Overwatch 2 ever since launch. For example, one fan recently discovered that Sombra players can glitch inside the payload relatively easily and fire out of it like a tank, allowing them to get kills whilst being protected by the payload's shell. Another recently discovered that Cassidy's Deadeye Ultimate sometimes doesn't deal damage even if the player lines up their shots perfectly.

Yet, despite the game's pre-launch Battle Pass controversies and its incredibly rocky launch, Overwatch 2 has still managed to amass an impressively large player base. Blizzard recently announced that over 25 million players have played Overwatch 2 since launch, which may explain why queue times were so damn long when the game launched.
