Overwatch 2 has been soldiering along rather quietly as of late, implementing the ocassional matchmaking fix or character rework to make sure the game runs as smoothly as possible. Since Ramattra's addition last year, Blizzard has promised that it's working on two new heroes to add to the roster at some point in Season 4. Before today, the only info we were given about these heroes was that they're both going to be Support, but now we've been given a first look at a character called Lifeweaver.

Announced via the official Overwatch Twitter account, Lifeweaver will be joining the roster at some point during Season 4 and seems to be designed around cherry blossoms, with one in the character's hand as well as a massive cherry blossom design attached to their back. We don't know what they will play like or what abilities they'll have just yet, but Blizzard has promised we'll get a more in-depth look at Lifeweaver and their arsenal at some point tomorrow.

First impressions of Lifeweaver are about as intense as you might expect from a fanbase that hasn't had a major character addition since last year, though there seems to be an awful lot of people focusing on Lifeweaver's astonishing good looks. Yes, just like the majority of the existing Overwatch 2 roster, Lifeweaver is absolutely smoking, and is seemingly an instant hit with fans.

While we don't know much about them just yet, Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller explained back in January that both Lifeweaver and the second upcoming Support hero that has yet to be announced will have "new mechanics and really exciting ways of interacting with your own team", which sounds like they may be a little bit more unique than what we have in current selection. In any case, we'll see what Lifeweaver is capable of tomorrow, hopefully in a gameplay demonstration of some kind.
