Blizzard has just dropped a gameplay trailer for Ramattra in Overwatch 2, and he looks like an absolute beast. Switching between his two forms, we see the former monk block ultimates like they're nothing, only to suddenly start tearing down the competition.
In the trailer, we see Ramattra block Cassidy's ultimate with his projectile shield and withstand Pharah's barrage using a personal ability. Overall, he looks incredibly versatile, able to switch between protecting his team and keeping himself alive during a fight. In his Nemesis form, he also seems to wipe out enemies all on his own, likely making for a formidable opponent.
As well as the gameplay trailer, Blizzard has also revealed Ramattra's move list. On top of creating a shield for his teammates, his ultimate will also keep them safe from enemy fire - and damage any of your opponents that get caught up in the attack. He can also release a vortex that pulls in enemies, slows them down, and damages them, similar to Mei's primary fire.
Ramattra has the honour of being Overwatch's first tempo tank, as well as the disappointment of being the first hero completely locked behind a battle pass. Unlike Kiriko, he will not be free to players who came from the first Overwatch, with all fans having to get him on either the premium or the free battle passes.
He will take the same slot on the battle pass as Kiriko did in the first season, making him a tier-one unlock for those who have paid, and tier 55 for everyone else. This is despite the backlash Blizzard faced over how long it took some players to unlock Kiriko, with some sharing that they only got the new healer after almost 50 hours of playing. It remains to be seen if Blizzard does anything to speed this up next season.
Ramattra will launch at the same time as the second season, December 6.
