Overwatch 2's second season starts next week and with it will come an all-new hero. Ramattra, a tank Blizzard has started to reveal details about, including the new character's ability to shoot through shields. No, Reinhardt mains, you did not read that wrong.

Blizzard's breakdown of Ramattra's abilities almost glosses over the fact it can generate shockwaves and then fire them through shields. As if that information alone wasn't enough for Reinhardt users to be worried about, a clip showing exactly how useless Ramattra renders Reinhardt's shield when firing off those shockwaves is shown during the video. As you can see below, the shield doesn't even slow Ramattra down.

The clip below has been purposefully picked out by Reinhardt mains to highlight the end is nigh. If you're among that group, add to the replies which are, as you might have already guessed, pretty panicked. The biggest thing Reinhardt brings to the table is the ability to generate a massive shield that it can use to protect itself and other team members. Starting in season two, if there's a Ramattra on the opposing team, that ability will be rendered pretty much useless.

Some have attempted to try and make themselves feel better by pointing out Firestrike already does this. The more pessimistic players trying to get their heads around Ramattra's devastating new move have highlighted Firestrike is limited to just two shots, and it also moves slowly enough that you can step out of the way if you're savvy enough.

Reinhardt mains aren't the only players worried about Ramattra's arrival. The gameplay video has also got some pointing out the new character's similarities to Doomfist, rendering the latter obsolete if what they've assumed to be the case is proved right on December 6. That's when season two will begin, but don't worry about bumping into Ramattra right away. The character is a battle pass exclusive and can't be unlocked to tier 55. Overwatch studio Activision Blizzard also continues to face repercussions following an investigation unearthing an alleged toxic work culture behind the scenes.
