The San Francisco Shock dominated most of the 2019 Overwatch League season on their way to a Grand Finals victory. They cemented themselves in league history and to help commemorate all their achievements throughout their historic season, the Overwatch League unveiled their championship Doomfist skin.

At first glance, the Shock's Doomfist skin is sick, with the cool name "Thunder" to add onto its appeal. It's themed around volcanic, supernatural and elemental beings and the design reflect those notions with molten lava seemingly contained underneath a rock body. The gold accents, along with the obsidian on the gauntlet, attempt to pay homage to the championship victory inspiration of the skin.

It might be hard to notice the nods towards San Francisco throughout the design. That's because the designers took a more subtle approach to incorporating elements of the Shock.  The letters S and F can be seen on Doomfist's belt, a star is on his shoulder alluding to the Shock's trophy patch on their jersey's shoulder and the classic, seismic ripple is quietly displayed on his forehead. Finally, the animation for his ultimate ends with a giant "SF" indented into the ground much like the one he dons on his belt.

This isn't the first skin to commemorate achievements within the Overwatch League, either. The London Spitfire, 2018 Grand Finals Champs, got their very own Winston skin to celebrate their victory which admittedly had more team-inspired theming than the Shock's. Sung-hyeon "JJoNak" Bang of the NYXL also got an octopus-inspired Zenyatta skin to celebrate his 2018 MVP honors and the Shock's Jay "Sinatraa" Won will get a Zarya one for his 2019 MVP award as well.

The "Thunder" Doomfist skin will only be available to purchase in-game from March 26th - April 9th, so don't miss out on the chance to grab a piece of history when it comes around.
