Team Canada took to Twitter to announce their roster for the 2019 Overwatch World Cup. There are some notable names here with some real talent, and it'll be exciting to see how this team performs come tournament time. With four OWL players and one of the biggest Overwatch streamers in the world in the starting lineup, Team Canada is looking to the finals this year.

The most dynamic part of this roster has to be the Los Angeles DPS duo of Gladiator's Surefour and Valiant's Agilities.  With the 2-2-2 role lock now in effect, Surefour and Agilities have been allowed to showcase their insane and varied DPS play and both hope to help carry Team Canada far into the 2019 tournament. Surefour is a fantastic Widowmaker, winning the OWL 2018 Widow 1 v. 1 during the all-star break and Agilities is a versatile projectile player whose Genji and Pharah play is top-tier.

Streamer and former OWL player xQc will once again take up main tank duties for Canada this year. xQc was the main tank for Dallas Fuel at the beginning of the inaugural season of OWL, but was the center of controversy with his on stream antics and offensive comments about other certain players in the league. This led to OWL suspending xQc for a period of time. Eventually, Dallas Fuel and xQc parted ways, and the player went back to focusing on streaming once more. xQc was signed by the LA Gladiators as a substitute main tank for their academy team Gladiators Legion earlier this year, but he hasn't been on stage since last year's OWWC. After being out of the professional scene for so long, it's impressive that xQc was able to make a roster spot again for Team Canada showing just how great of a main tank he is.

Other notables on a solid Canadian roster are Houston Outlaw's Bani who is a great support player and Mangachu, a streamer turned pro for Toronto Defiant. Note is a stellar off-tank who helped lead the Boston Uprising to an undefeated stage 3 in the inaugural season of OWL. He was eventually traded to Dallas Fuel this year, where he has continued to make an impact.

Team Canada had great results at the 2018 Overwatch World Cup. They made a deep run towards a third place finish over United Kingdom 3-2. With the continued effects of the 2-2-2 role lock going forward with a solid tank lineup and incredible DPS duo, Canada is looking forward to another long run in the 2019 Overwatch World Cup.
