The schedule for week nine of the Overwatch League is here and with it comes the announcement the league will be keeping their online format for the remainder of the 2020 season. What was supposed to be the season the league showed the potential of its location-based home and away format has changed drastically. There is nothing that could have been done, but it's nice to see the league will continue despite a massive change in plans to kick off the season.

The matches for week nine should be exciting as the four Chinese teams continue to battle it out against each other, the Houston Outlaws and Paris Eternal rematch and the Shock trying to bounce back against a Valiant team that took them down last week. The Vancouver Titans, Seoul Dynasty and London Spitfire are left off the schedule as the teams settle in after relocating to Korea and the New York Excelsior should be doing the same.

It's possible the Overwatch League will transition back to homestands towards the end of the season, but right now it isn't looking likely. Still, there is a lot to like about the 2020 season despite all the obstacles in the way. Details about playoffs and such are still under wraps so all anyone can do right now is enjoy all the exciting matches moving forward.
