We're just a week away from the start of Overwatch 2's second season, which will bring Ramattra as a new tank hero and the Shambali Monastery, a new Escort map that was once the home of both Ramattra and Zenyatta. But that's not all coming on Season 2--expect to encounter Greek gods thanks to the new season's mythical theme alongside a new limited-time game mode.

Greek mythology is taking over Overwatch with new skins and a new game mode. To start, the Battle for Olympus game mode will run from January 5 to January 19. We don't really know exactly what that battle will entail, but the trailer certainly made it seem like everyone will be fighting at Ilios Ruins, which definitely seems appropriate.

In addition to the new game mode, loads of heroes will be getting Greek-themed skins. Junker Queen's Zeus skins tops the Premium Battle Pass and include new customizations, weapon models, voice lines, and special effects. Ramattra Poseidon and Hades Pharah are also present on the battle pass, while Medusa Widowmaker, Minotaur Reinhardt, Cyclops Roadhog, and Hermes Lucio will also become available during the season.

Greek gods will eventually give way to a Winter Wonderland event from December 13 to January 4, and after that the Lunar New Year event from January 17 to February 1. Expect new and improved rewards and a skin available just for completing challenges during the event. It might even turn out to be Epic Ice Queen Brigitte, Legendary Winged Victory Mercy, or Legendary Kkachi Echo. Twitch will also bring a new Legendary Ramattra skin as a Twitch drop at some point.

Season 2 will bring big changes in terms of hero balance. Ana, Bastion, Junker Queen, Kiriko, Mercy, and Symmetra are all set to receive tweaks, while Doomfist will receive changes to "better support" his "team's front line." Sojourn is another hero set for adjustment to address player feedback regarding the lethality of her Rail Gun. Season 2 will encourage Sojourn players to better make use of her mobility "to close the distance for the more devastating right-clicks."

Season 2 of Overwatch 2 arrives on December 6.
