Blizzard seems to have teased the arrival of a novel Overwatch hero and it appears that he could be a French medic named Jean-Baptiste Augustin.
The game's new Paris map launched this week following much anticipation. And, by the looks of a tweet from the official Overwatch Twitter account, a brand-new hero is on the way.
Said tweet includes a link to a letter in which it is revealed that Baptiste is a deserting Talon medic on the run. A Talon squad led by a D. Cuerva has apparently set out to capture or kill the escaped healer who is described as a very good shooter.

"I know better than to underestimate Baptiste," the letter reads. "I helped train him myself, and he was one of our best. I’ve never known a medic to be such a good shot, and his adaptability to new situations is a rare talent. All of us have seen our fair share of conflict, but Baptiste was built to survive. I swear he has the Devil’s own luck.
"I am preparing the rest of the team to move out. Baptiste could be gone by dawn. I don’t know if Pacanowsky, Mazzei, and Doubleday are still alive. All three of them were part of Baptiste's unit before his desertion, and given their personal inclinations, the odds aren’t in their favor."
This is all set in Tortuga, a small Caribbean island that forms part of Haiti, a place rich in French heritage. While it is not confirmed, Tortuga could be Baptiste's home.
It's also not confirmed that this tease relates to a new hero and it could be based on a new event, but there is a lot to suggest that Baptiste's arrival is imminent.
Judging from the description in the letter, the new hero is a support character with immense shooting ability. It could be that he's a long or mid-range healer as Ana is already a sniper in the game.
Blizzard, though, is said to have bigger plans and many new ideas for Overwatch and they don't only pertain to heroes, maps and events. Fans would do well to expect a lot more in store, possibly inclusive of a rum-loving medic called Baptiste.
