Panzer Dragoon: Remake is no longer exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, as it has been announced that the game will be coming to Steam in the future.

The original Panzer Dragoon was an on-rails shooter for the Sega Saturn that launched alongside the system. The gameplay style of Panzer Dragoon felt like the spiritual successor to the Space Harrier series, as the player flew their dragon across huge stages and fought off attackers from all sides. The graphics for Panzer Dragoon were stunning for the time, even if the mixture of 3D models and 2D sprite work looks dated by today's standards, which is why a remake of the game is necessary in the first place. A remake of Panzer Dragoon II Zwei is also in development.

Panzer Dragoon: Remake was originally announced for the Nintendo Switch, but the official Twitter account for the game has revealed that it will also be coming to Steam in the future.

Panzer Dragoon: Remake has revamped the visuals of the original game, as well as updated the control scheme to modern standards. It's not surprising to see Panzer Dragoon: Remake becoming a multiplatform title and there is a good chance that it will also hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the future.

The Panzer Dragoon games started their life on the Sega Saturn, which was a system that was crushed at the marketplace by both the Nintendo 64 and the Sony PlayStation. The original Panzer Dragoon games have had a cult fanbase for a long time now, but the remakes can open the series up to new fans in the way that the old ones can't, due to their dated visuals. We can also hope that a remake of Panzer Dragoon Saga is on the cards at some point, due to how incredible it is and how costly it is to purchase an original copy of the game online.

Panzer Dragoon: Remake will be released for PC and Nintendo Switch in Winter 2019.
